"Why would would you think anything other, are you short the stock?"
This made my day.
Sentiment: Hold
oh and the second thing is, I hope I'm not top-ticking this stock by writing this.

2 things.
first, I'm big enough to admit when I'm wrong, and you know what, maybe I was wrong about $AMD being a total joke.
my prior logic was: $AMD moving from competing with $INTC (a knife with a mace) to competing with 4 or 5 incredibly well run, desperate mobile/graphics chip makers (dudes with knives), so why would we expect their profits to increase?
my current logic is: all those desperate mobile/graphics chip makers turn a profit every year. even if $AMD just ekes out a $100M net inc from that segment of its business, it has the steady cashflow from its PS4 XBOX as well.
and also, since PS4 and XBOX will be using the same cpu architecture, it gives Valve a strong incentive to do the same with their Steambox, and Nintendo to do the same thing with their next hardware refresh once they fire the drunkards who run that ship.
so if you consider the gaming business as AMD's fallback cashflow machine, it's possible that it is actually a growth market.
when $AMD was profitable it made about $400M annual. current mkt cap is $2.73B ... ...
I was holding my call options before because I found it funny. Now I'm legitimately considering adding to my position...
Sentiment: Hold
that's where you're WRONG ozzman! I'm still long via the jul 13 3.5 call option contract. I desperately want sentiment to drop on this name, because that will help preserve the bull run. if you guys want $AMD to crack $5 in the next couple months, which is totally possible, you need to start posting some more bearish tirades.
Sentiment: Hold
ha yup I'm still long :)
there is only one number that matters for gold stocks. one single metric. cash cost per ounce. that's it.
indeed it is
lulz
you can laugh at me as well, because I sold out and have no position in $IAG, but with this qtr, expect a MUCH bigger move ahead. shorts are screwed. now I shall peruse this board for the desperation posts from the condemned. lol @ shorts!
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I am long this stock, but don't get it all twisted. There is no fundamental basis at all for the latest run up. AMD is becoming a custom chip maker? Great. They'll compete with NVIDIA, Qualcomm, TI, Samsung, etc etc. How's that working for those companies? This is purely a technical bounce. Enjoy the cocaine while it lasts, your parents are coming home soon and we'll be back to $2 before you know it.
And oh yeah, that whole "AMD is providing PS4 and XBox chips!" argument? Dude they've been providing X360 chips for like 7 years now. That's already baked into the price.
This is still the same over indebted company as always that will never pay a dividend, never buy back shares, and never return any value to its owners. The only way to make money on this stock is find a greater fool than yourself, and luckily there are a lot of those out there at the moment.
Short term buy, long term sell.
Sentiment: Sell
I lulz this foolishness

charlie look at their annual presentation and see their cash cost per ounce over the last 8 quarters. it marches up consistently. the reason is that the mines are less prolific and base metal prices are taking a dive just like the precious metals. I agree with you in principle, but don't expect the cash cost per ounce to stay below zero for long.
Sentiment: Buy
I come to this message board to see the bear trolls out in force on days like today, fapping furiously into the air. Instead all I see is iamgoldpumper talking up this stock like a champ.
PS my stance is still bearish, I think a washout in this sector will look like the bloodbath we saw in the solar sector from 2010-2012. the ideological longs need even more pain to dislodge them. the bull market cannot commence until the current holders are swept away. much like in the solar sector, you will know the bloodbath is complete when a 20% jump in the stock is met with joy, not with "meh, we just covered last week's losses". this has nothing to do with fundamentals.
