Hps - you are in a good spot - i invested some at an early age but i was slow to discover how mutual fund managers really have no plan for downside protection and half a plan when the markets are good.
Always consider yourself a student of the game and just be happy to learn and be a part of something that most people dont even try to understand (the markets). If you start doing well - dont let it go to your head. The,market can make really smart people look really dumb and dumb people look really smart - all in the same day. Best of luck
So i can buy some more sept call options
I sold 95 june call options thinking i would catch a pull back today to "roll up" my options and buy more sept options today
I still hold 40 contracts for sept calls. 2.50 strike
I am no options expert but with axas i was able to buy these at close to parity
First world problems i guess!
Sentiment: Strong Buy
The good thing about Richardson is that is if there is any hanky panky on the jet he can be trusted to cover it up with a job offer to the "monica" or what ever her name might be
Is he going to be an "outside director"? LOL Whatever that is
Beyond his coziness with the oil industry, Richardson was also caught up on the fringes of the Peregrine Systems scandal, a financial scam in the Enron style. Between February 2001 and June 2002 he served as on outside director on the board of Peregrine, a San Diego-based software company whose CEO, Stephen Gardner, was the brother-in-law of Richardson's wife. During this period of time the company's directors were engaged in various acts of financial impropriety, including masking the severity of Peregrine's losses with phony accounting. The company eventually went bankrupt and Gardner was later charged with obstruction of justice and securities fraud. When Richardson was asked about the Peregrine scandal during his gubernatorial campaign in 2002, he claimed to have had no involvement "because I was what was called an 'outside director" and "didn't have time" to read the company's corporate reports. But according to the San Diego Reader, "Records show that Richardson attended, in person or by phone, 15 board meetings. In those meetings, directors were hearing that the company might get caught cooking the books."
I am with you and i dont get it
I am not buying nor selling at this point
If i had the funds i would be more inlined to buy here
Maybe the market actually needs to see the divi being paid a the regular to assign a $25 number to the issue
The other $11 is already accounted for
Well here we are boys! March 2014 and the finale is upon us
I am down to 13,000 shares and it has been a fun ride
I doubled my IRA and already traded out of those shares
depending on what my CPA says it might be time to hand these last few off to the next guy
Thanks to don-t-panic and WTH for the hand holding over the years.
Time to pop the cork on Monday?
I am no CPA but mine charges me a small fortune to do the taxes on my bank issues
Fidelity reports a huge OID -original issue discount - as a gain every year
If you were to pay this every year you would have payed the taxes all along
My guy has to go in and enter every trade in a spreadsheet to recalculate the way fidelity reports it
I sent him an email this morning but i am hoping that i can sell right before the payout and take a long term capitol gain as i am pretty sure i have been postponing the gains but reworking the OID every year
I am ready to add today if we see these pre-market #'s continue
there is a little blood on the street
Warren Buffett 'Be Fearful When Others Are Greedy and Greedy When Others Are Fearful'
it seems to be the only green I have and I am all in this sector
I love a short squeeze and I hope you are correct!
yes - having the government control pricing is a good thing - our great leaders know what is best for us common folk
and also they should control wages - no one should be rich - raise the min wage!
they could seize all the assets of those corrupt unions too - maybe buy some cruise ships and start a vacation program for workers - call it "strength for joy" - how nice!
how about controlling business too - all that corporate greed - just take them over and put a symbol on the ones that are bad - like maybe a star on the window
while we are at it - the government should do something about racial matters - maybe start a program to control all the breeding going on in a certain sector of our population
they could call the program "Lebensborn"
Panic does his homework the former #1 pick has been a triple bagger but it moved down on valuation FBS-PA
It still is my largest holding because all the risk is gone and i am riding it down to the last nickel
