  • The top U.S. intelligence official on Thursday gave a drastically different assessment than Secretary of State John Kerry of the terror threat -- declaring 2014 the deadliest year for global terrorism ever recorded, after Kerry claimed that threat was diminishing.

Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, testifying on Capitol Hill, catalogued the growing terror-fueled violence in stark terms.

"When the final accounting is done, 2014 will have been the most lethal year for global terrorism in the 45 years such data has been compiled," Clapper told the Senate Armed Services Committee.

He offered statistics that would appear to challenge other administration officials' claims that the country and world are safer today.

A day earlier, Kerry testified at a separate hearing that, "Despite ISIL, despite the visible killings that you see and how horrific they are, we are actually living in a period of less daily threat to Americans and to people in the world than normally; less deaths, less violent deaths today, than through the last century."

That prompted a quick response from lawmakers and from inside the intelligence community.

Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn , former head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, told Fox News that Kerry is "out of touch with reality, he clearly is not listening to the entire U.S. intelligence community."

Clapper on Thursday said that in 2013, about 11,500 worldwide attacks killed about 22,000 people. But in the first nine months alone of 2014, he said, preliminary data from a University of Maryland research unit show nearly 13,000 attacks killed 31,000 people.

Half of those attacks and fatalities were in Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan, he said. He said the Islamic State conducted more attacks than any other terror group in those first nine months.

He must think the down home folks are brainless. Ignoring the fact that Islamic Jihad terrrorists have been at war with the civilizes world for most of the last half of the 20th century...or even back to Jefferson and Adams....."From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli"--1800 to 1815..

Obama And Cameron Blame Terrorism On Poverty, Not Islamic Radicalism

U.S. President Barack Obama and U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron published an op-ed in Thursday’s London Times that blamed terrorism on poverty. The two world leaders never mentioned extreme Islamic radicalism in the piece. Former U.S. Ambassador John Bolton commented on the co-written article when he appeared on Fox News Channel’s On The Record Thursday night. Host Greta Van Susteren asked the diplomat about Obama’s correlation of terrorism and jobs.

“Did you read the op-ed in the London Times that he wrote with, that he penned with Prime Minister David Cameron. And it was a little bit, you know, weird… he said the way to solve terrorism is jobs.”

Bolton responded that Obama’s beliefs are far left and misguided.

“The terrorist threat does not come from economic deprivation — that is leftist ideology, it’s really Marxist ideology, that all of this religion politics is the super-structure of economics. And the primitive belief that if it weren’t for poverty everything would be fine in the world — some of the worst terrorists are among the best educated and come from well-off people. Osama bin Laden being example number one.”

The former ambassador to the United Nations predicted that the terrorism in Europe is going to make its way to the United States.

“We’re in deep trouble. That’s where we stand. The president does not have an anti-terrorism policy. He still thinks this is law-enforcement, not war, and we’ve got two more years. So what we’re seeing in Europe now, we’re going to see in this country. That it may take to wake him up.”

Obama has not used the term “extreme Islamic radicalism” to describe the attacks in Paris. Likewise, the president has referred to terrorist attacks in the U.S. as “workplace violence.”

  • Well, at least we finally have a liberal willing to admit that they’ve been lying to us all this time. Christiana Figueres is the executive secretary of the United Nation’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, and she recently made a devastating admission… the goal of environmental activism is not to save the world from terrifying environmental calamity, but to end capitalism.

"This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution," she said.

Referring to a new international treaty environmentalists hope will be adopted at the Paris climate change conference later this year, she added: "This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model for the first time in human history."

For conservatives this isn’t news. We’ve been pointing out the inconsistency in liberal arguments about climate change for years, and we’ve also been pointing out that it seems to have more to do with power than with saving the environment. The liberal dead-eyed focus on climate change is simply because it has been a “winning” hand in the media for more than 20 years. However, time is growing short for the climate change alarmists, because all of their terrible benchmarks have come and gone without bringing about the scary things that liberals warned us about.

    Remember any of these?

Last September 21, as the Northern Hemisphere tilted away from the sun, scientists reported with unprecedented distress that the North Polar ice cap is "falling off a cliff." One study estimated that it could be completely gone during summer in less than 22 years. Another new study, to be presented by U.S. Navy researchers later this week, warns it could happen in as little as 7 years.

    Seven years from now.

Yeah… um, the polar ice caps are still here and they are actually as expansive as they’ve been in decades.

Or how about back in 2000 when the “climate experts” were telling us that snow might disappear forever?

“Winters with strong frost and lots of snow like we had 20 years ago will cease to exist at our latitudes.”

Mojib Latif, Max Planck Institute for Meteorology, Hamburg, 1 April 2000

“Good bye winter. Never again snow?”
    Spiegel, 1 April 2000

    This one was particularly disturbing…

“Within a few years winter snowfall will become a very rare and exciting event. … Children just aren’t going to know what snow is.”

David Viner, Climatic Research Unit, University of East Anglia, 20 March 2000

How about all of those many predictions that the weather would just continue to get warmer and warmer? I wonder what these same climate scientists would think if we told them back then that global temperatures would actually stop rising somewhere around 1997 - 98?

“Computer models predict that the temperature rise will continue at that accelerated pace if emissions of heat-trapping gases are not reduced, and also predict that warming will be especially pronounced in the wintertime.”

Star News, William K. Stevens, New York Times, 11 Mar 2000

Climate Change Alarmism is not about the environment or saving the world, folks. It’s all about power, and liberals want to make sure that when everything is said and done, it’s liberal governments who end up holding the reins of power. That is what climate change fear mongering is all about.

Obama got Bin laden and a bunch of other high ranking terrorists...

And claimed al quada is on the run....nada

And coalition (what coalition...lead by who) is succeeding against ISIS...nada

And bragged about our successes in Yemen and Somalia...nada

The difference between GW's and LOTUS' doctrine is striking---Bush doctrine was to go after terrorists were they live---LOTUS' doctrine is to retreat from terrorists, except limited success with drone attacks

  • A striking admission of political dishonesty from the keeper of the Obama flame

Barack Obama misled Americans for his own political benefit when he claimed in the 2008 election to oppose same sex marriage for religious reasons, his former political strategist David Axelrod writes in a new book,Believer: My Forty Years in Politics.

“I’m just not very good at bullshitting,” Obama told Axelrod, after an event where he stated his opposition to same-sex marriage, according to the book.

Axelrod writes that he knew Obama was in favor of same-sex marriages during the first presidential campaign, even as Obama publicly said he only supported civil unions, not full marriages. Axelrod also admits to counseling Obama to conceal that position for political reasons. “Opposition to gay marriage was particularly strong in the black church, and as he ran for higher office, he grudgingly accepted the counsel of more pragmatic folks like me, and modified his position to support civil unions rather than marriage, which he would term a ‘sacred union,’ ” Axelrod writes.

The insider’s account provides the clearest look yet at Obama’s long-established flip-flop, one of the blemishes on his record as a progressive. The admission of Obama’s embrace of deception also calls into question the President’s stated embrace of a new kind of politics in 2008, when he promised to be unlike other politicians who change their views to match the political winds. “Having prided himself on forthrightness, though, Obama never felt comfortable with his compromise and, no doubt, compromised position,” Axelrod writes. “He routinely stumbled over the question when it came up in debates or interviews.”

As a state senate candidate in 1996, Obama filled out aquestionnaire saying “I favor legalizing same-sex marriages, and would fight efforts to prohibit such marriages.” But 12 years later as a candidate for president, Obama told Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church that marriage could only extend to heterosexual couples. “I believe that marriage is the union between a man and a woman,” Obama said at the time. “Now, for me as a Christian — for me — for me as a Christian, it is also a sacred union. God’s in the mix.”

After two years in office, Obama began telling reporters he was “evolving” on the issue, and supported the repeal of the Clinton-era Defense of Marriage Act.

But Obama didn’t publicly support same-sex marriages as president until Vice President Joe Biden got out ahead of him in an interview with Meet the Press, saying he was “absolutely comfortable” with the unions.

In Axelrod’s account, Obama was “fully evolved” more than five months before, telling his aides to find a way for him to speak on the issue, even as campaign manager Jim Messina warned him it could cost the state of North Carolina.

Yet if Obama’s views were “evolving” publicly, they were fully evolved behind closed doors. The president was champing at the bit to announce his support for the right of gay and lesbian couples to wed—and having watched him struggle with this issue for years, I was ready, too.

Obama to Christians: Get Off Your High Horse

President Obama today said he and other Christians should not “get on our high horse” with respect to the ISIS rampages in the name of religion, suggesting that Christians had done similar things in the name of their religion during the crusades and with slavery in the United States.

Obama listed the many outrages throughout the world being carried out unjustly in the name of Islam. But then he added:

Lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ. In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ . . .
So this is not unique to one group or one religion. There is a tendency in us, a sinful tendency that can pervert and distort our faith.

Obama went on to describe how religious sects in India were attacking each other in ways “that would have shocked” Gandhi.

    **********************************

Unfortunately the war has not been ended. The U.S. has withdrawn from the foreign battlefields. Under LOTUS the global Islamic jihad enemy has grown with the expansion of ISIS and a rejuvenated Al Qaeda, and has a growing presence in the U.S. Stand by for increased act of terrorism.
