There is no doubt that the big guns are rotating money out of "looser"/"bleeder" AMZN into BABA. And it can become even more interesting when BABA will be included rather sooner than later into the S&P 500 based on its marketcap. It is still too young as a stock after the IPO for an inclusion By then the "big guns" have to buy BABA no matter what to get their index portofolios equally weighted with the indices!!!!
It is interesting to see how BABA has taken off.....................
Screaming buy after profit taking will take place but when does that moment come????
Everything speaks for BABA comparing it to AMZN. AMZN already 15 yrs in business and not making a penny profit.................biggest bleeder of the last decade and more to follow. Don't understand why anybody would/is buying that stock..........
    GL longs with BABA

  • It is interesting to see the growth projections of balooga in his messages. I think he is not far off with his estimates. And also Mr.Carl Icahn has a clue of investing that is a proven fact. You better listen when those guys(i.e. also Warren Buffet) are talking about stocks. I think we will soon see upward revisions from analysts and if not AAPL will easily beat the qtrly projections for nxt yr. Important to watch is what the suppliers of AAPL are doing and how their resuls are shaping up. One of those major suppliers is SWKS. It will publish their qtrly results on the 6 th nov. It has a track record of solidly beating the anylists estimates/concensus numbers the last 3-4 qtrs. It will be interesting to see what forward looking guidance SWKS will give. That could be an indicator how well AAPL is doing as well. It is no doubt that AAPL has started another growth cycle. It is owned by more than 2800 institutions/mutual funds/hedgefunds alltogether. And it is also known that all these "big" guns are scooping up AAPL shares @ the moment because they don't have AAPL enough weigthed in their portifolios. That supports AAPL's shareprice and it explains why AAPL's share price was amazingly resilient in the last correction phase of the stockmarket. And on one day AAPL will be added to the Dow Jones which it deserves. It is a blue chip by any definition and a solid dividend payer and a company which has enough cash on the balance sheets to buy their shares (=support of the shareprice) back for years to come. We will see an upward adjustment of AAPL's P/E soon and thus an even higher shareprice.
There is @ the moment almost no better "low risk" investment available then AAPL.
    My prediction for AAPL's pps 2015 : $140 - $150 and for 2016 heading towards $180 - $200.
    Good luck longs

    MNK's recent performance and future

    by henkgina Oct 3, 2014 9:43 PM
henkgina henkgina Oct 5, 2014 4:50 PM Flag

Hi good72day. I must disagree with your comment on my post although I first agreed. But looking deeper to your claim I come to the same conclusion as I did before and here is why.
If you agree with my EPS assumptions/calculations from the separate stocks MNK/QCOR then when their shares come together through the merger and MNK did not issue new shares (and they did not to my knowledge) then the amount of shares put together stays the same and so MNK's profit will be around $ 12.00/share for 2015.
Your claim would be true if MNK had issued (and thus diluted their EPS) new shares. MNK took on debt and payed $30.00 cash + 0.8977 shares MNK for 1 QCOR share to the QCOR shareholders, So they replaced the number of QCOR shares with a more or less equal number of MNK shares and the QCOR shares don't exist anymore. But QCOR still makes the same growing profits as before on a more or less equal amount of shares as before. So if MNK makes this year $4.15/share and QCOR $6.00/share then then they will make together $10.15/share if the number of shares stayed more or less the same as before. Do I miss something here? Your input is welcome.
    GL to all longs.

  • Exactly a month ago MNK broke out of a cup without a handle base @ the $83.00 level. Today MNK has added $10.00 to that price in an almost uninterrupted ascending line. There were 23 trading days in total of which 8 were down days. Of these down days only 1 was above the avg daily volume(just right after the breakout)..the other 7 down days were below the avg daily volume. That is a strong bullish pattern.
It shows that on the down days most likely the big "guns" are still adding shares to their positions from the weak hands selling their shares and taking profits. The main upcoming event is the investor relations conference on the 14th Oct in NYC on which the CEO Mark Trudeau will announce MNK's 3 rd qtr results (including 6 weeks of "old" QCOR sales/profits) and will hint to the expectations for the 4 th qtr 2014 and the 2015 projections.
Since the current administration tries to limit/disencourage the tax inversion opportunities of American companies we can conclude that Mr. Don Bailey(QCOR) together with Mr. Mark Trudeau(MNK) made an excellent move just intime to weld the 2 companies together. And ofcourse we "longs" have benefitted as well.
It will be interesting to see what profit projections Mark Trudeau is going to release for the 4th qtr 2014 and for 2015.
For 2015 I am assuming that MNK's EPS will be in the range of $11.50 - $12.50. How do I come to that figure? The "old" QCOR EPS for 2014 = approx. $6.00. Assuming an EPS growth for 2015 of 25% that will give an EPS of $7.50 x 0.9(1 QCOR share =0.897 MNK) =$ 6.75. MNK's EPS for 2014 = $4.15 (midrange between $4.00 and $4.30 projected by Mark Trudeau @ the 2nd qtr results). Assuming an EPS growth for 2015 of 25% that will give an "organic" EPS of $5.18. $6.75 + $ 5.18 = $11.98.With a P/E of 15 which is low for a growth stock like MNK we can see a shareprice for MNK N of $150.00. Even with a low P/E of 12 we can see a shareprice of $144.00.IMHO MNK is still way undervalued.
GL longs and any input is welcome.

    Buying opportunity?

Yes big time.It will be a short lived correction like many before. @ the moment money can go only 1 way and that is equities till the FED starting hinting a more detailed timeframe for their first rate hike.
SWKS is a quality growth stock and made a fantastic run last/this year......taking some profits from the table is normal. For the short(er) term SWKS is testing support @ a buypoint around $54.00.......
It also looks like the USA is a safe haven for stocks/bonds and the rising greenback helps.

    Covered Calls Question

    by joe82man Oct 1, 2014 10:27 PM
henkgina henkgina Oct 2, 2014 1:33 AM Flag

Hi Joe yes I am selling calls against my shares. The trick is that you need a volatile market to get good prices for the calls to sell.I would never sell leaps. The risk with specific MNK is that the stock will appreciate significantly in the coming 2 yrs because I think MNK is still way undervalued. So IMHO it is better to sell short term calls 3 to max 6 months and repeat this exercise every 3 or 6 months. When the stock drops buy them back for less money ofcourse and if there is still enough time left sell them again when the shareprice appreciates. The time decay is quicker with the shorter term options then with the leaps. And if the shareprice goes higher then the strike price of the sold call options you can always roll your call option over (= buy the expiring one back and sell a call option with a higher strike price and a longer timeframe). And so and so on.
Currently I own oct 2014/115 calls, which I sold for $2.50 in June. They were calls sold on my QCOR shares and now ofcourse MNK.They will expire worthless I assume and thus I lowered my share price of QCOR and now MNK with $2.50. When they expire I will look depending on MNK's shareprice to sell jan or apr calls with strike prices $115.00 - $125.00. The minimum I like to get is $1.00 or more.
And depending on your purchase price of MNK and your profit margin you can buy with the cash you get from the sold calls.....put options to protect the profit on your shares. I do that every now and then short before the publication of the qtr results. The risk you run is : if the stockprice rises after the release of the qtr results past the strike price of your sold calls that you will be called on your shares but you have a nice profit I hope. Or you roll your sold calls over. And when the stockprice drops on disappointing results you are always protected with your puts and can exercise your puts for the strike price(=selling your shares). This only with very short term options (weekly - 1 month).I hope this helps. GL
