The volume is the surprise. I almost got excited enough to add, but it rankles to buy what you could have had yesterday for less. HTM is kind of a "shove it in a drawer" stock for me. Wonder what is happening?
in HTM? Someone here might have plugged it a year or so ago ; I started buying and have a pretty big position. They do Geothermal development. It has plodded along, for the most part, but hasn't lost value since I bought it. It is exploding today on huge volume, no news.
MOJO was probably Darren's biggest fabrication. He certainly tested the limits of "forward looking statements" on that one!
The hieronymous gut (which seems to be grower larger with every passing day) thinks .30 or .35 is about right, if you accept .40 as the fair PPS pre- earnings. Getting rid of Darren should have been seen as a positive. The timing was abysmal. disappointing earnings were pretty much written in and should be weighed against new and hopefully more careful management.
Well yes, but these days I actually worry that something bad has happened to him. I hope he is still on the planet and doing well for himself.
Agreed, although it is depressing to think about how they ran the share price to ground. I only have a vague sense of the events; some of the wonks here can outline it better. But weren't we at .70 when they hit us with the ATM nonsense (which they never even used) and shaved 20% right off the price. At around the same time, they disappointed with earnings and Darren blew more smoke up our you know whats with his endless blather about RB4 being momentous and a total game changer and just wait and see. Then, after a good dose of forward looking nonsense, they go and halt trading the day before earnings of the Q everyone has been waiting for, giving many hope of a buyout, which they then DASH with the resignations or firings or whatever they were, and we should rejoice, but we're shocked so the stock goes into a tailspin, and THEN finally gets the coup de gras (sp?) with relatively miserable earnings announced yesterday. And yes, there are several positives, like the cost cutting and good riddence to bad rubbish (Darren) but it all gets lost in the shuffle and this tour de force of lousy timing. I'd like to see them fire their IR firm tomorrow. The jokers who timed this have no business being in business.
Sorry for your loss. I would have waited though, and even accepted being completely rubbed out before I sold. This stock has always been perverse in its reaction to earnings. It may seem foolish to say it today, but the stock may actually want to go up from yesterday's close. I've seen it reverse this way several times over the years. also, if karen can run it as a meat and potatoes operation, it won't stay at this lowly level forever. I say this as a holder of over 250K shares and I added another 25K yesterday and today. I'm not panicked. I just feel like the mouse in the paws of the cat. Best to play dead for a while!
Well fud, I guess we all know how you are playing this one! LOL! You are starting to make Hilary Clinton look like Honest Abe!
They ought to hire that guy with the Brooklyn/ Long Island /Boston accent. He had mad dog enthusiasm.
I'm a lot more worried about the general market than I am about MCZ at this price. We're pretty close to the ground here, so unless they fail to survive, it's just a waiting game. If she can generate some credibility and a little excitement, the stock will sell at a better valuation than it EVER did under Darren. He should have been sent to pasture after the first rock band release.
Well Barney, judging by your performance over on that KTCC stock picking game, I'd have to say I'm not going to worry too much about your blather.
Fresh blood here. This was probably the most energetic CC I've heard in years. I think she'll be given the benefit of the doubt, which sure is better than the demoralized attitude associated with Darren and his exhausted credibility. I still regret not having sold at .70 and agree that is was INCREDIBLY bone headed to announce the shake up one day before the CC -- that cause a completely unnecessary panic. But this stock is a pretty good bet at .25, even in this lousy market we're in.
not likely. She's doing a good enough job IMO. I suspect the exciting or glitzy product isn't going to drive us this year, but her sound management is what we'll be betting on. If this had existed under Darren, we'd all be sitting pretty by now. CC is addressing share value as I type.
