    PM bid $15.52

Bid now $15.09. Definitely appears that the pps is going break to a new 52 week low. Next stop below that is support at ~$14.50. That's a level I never thought to see the bid at again....

This may be the stuff of financial horror movies but on a percentage basis what's shaping up, so far, is simply a ~10% correction that some have been calling for for awhile. Errr...that's the overall market (Dow). So if the PM indicators showing the Dow opening down over 600pts hold up we'll be well within that correction territory today....thud city for some....an opportunity to grab some babies/diamonds for others. Whatever the case me thinks today will be one that stands large in collective memory. Interestingly enough...like in 1987.....it's happening on a Monday, too.

    G/L!

Going for the (current) 52 week low that sits just south of $15. Bid in PM now $15.35. Dow futures now off over 520pts....Nas futures off over 140pts. Gonna a a bloody day no question about that...

Well...looks like today's gonna be a big flush all over the planet. So whatever happens with this weeee penny equity it'll be less a function of specifics and more just going with the outgoing tides. Let's see how it plays out. Bid/Ask showing a huge (for this equity) spread. $0.61 x $0.70 thought most of the action is hitting the bid or just north of it...

Dow futures off over 350pts. Here it is...the big flush? It feels like the end of 2008...or...since I have adult memories of Black Monday, 1987...it feels similar but, of course, different to that time. Gonna be an interesting day and week. Buckle up it's gonna be a crazy day. I'm holding a couple of "gets" from, now, a lot higher in pps. Looks like they've become intermediate term trades (heh). It happens. For the most part I think I'll be doing the usual...looking for the babies, the diamonds, being thrown out because of this flush. There are always such...

    G/L to everyone today.

Now way to describe this other than fugly with a capital FUGLY! Dow off over 500pts. I have to go back to almost the debacle period of 2008 to recall a day comparable to what went on today. Everything got hammered regardless of merit. Lot's of babies thrown out with the bathwater folks. So for now the tactical interim play is on the buy side looking for those babies that will go on to bounce....I closed a number of short positions I'd been holding for some time, just taking the profits and not wanting to be greedy. Now to start a systems run cranking thru numbers to look to find what looks appealing on the by side for Monday and next week.

Yah...well...I suspect you're like me when it comes to media "guru's" and such. They're the equivalent of ESPN sports announcers calling the play by play at a football game (round or oval). They actually know little substantive about the game, take all their cues from cards and ear-pieces, but look good and talk a good game. They're entertainment, nothing more...or rather...little more (because occasionally they do hit on something correctly). That's my view of dam near all of 'em....and to think they get paid dam well for looking pretty and talking smack. Hell of a career if'n you can get it? ;-)

    Bid catching some support....$16.23...

Nah...not me. I've got one "get" from $16.94 that I'm holding. All the other plays more than make up for that one....I expect BAC to recover though I don't see this happening quickly. But I'm patient at this point. I don't see BAC, nor the sector, puking the bed and never going anywhere again. But that's not to say that as boats in the market tidal waters that they won't be roiled by the likes of a Dow being off (at one point) 500pts on the day. It's off ~450pts right now and clearly impacting everything. It is what it is. Let's see if BAC's bid holds here at $16.21 or crumples further into close....

  • highlowsel highlowsel Aug 21, 2015 3:37 PM Flag

This is something of a good news bad news situation. The bad news, obviously, is the bid is down...going into the final 30 minutes the bid is hanging at $0.7062. The good news is juxtapose this against a market that's being crushed,. The Dow right now is off over 470pts. That's FOUR HUNDRED SEVENTY POINTS! NBG could be off a lot more than down and still above its 52 week low...at least...for now. ;-) Babies are being thrown out the bathwatter windows left right sideways and every which way you look. NBG....not so much....guess it's indicative of being wrung out by the market, exhausted and, though going nowhere fast doesn't seem inclined to join the downside parade....

But now we have a month of antics to consider given the election call on/about Sept 20. I'll keep my mouth shut on the above 'cause you just can't tell where this one is gonna go during that time....

Deflationary pressures, or the fear of such, are sending markets into fits of squealing. That amongst other things. I think follks are beginning to dream visions of the last 20 years witnessed by Japan. And they're STILL caught in a deflationary trap. If there's any humor in this, for the Japanese at least....they can now turn around after being harangued the last couple of decades by the U.S., et.al. and now say..."Yeah? So what's YOUR excuse there round eye? Welcome to the hole! " ;-)

Final hour high jinks setting up a'plenty. Bid $16.22. BAC is basically down 10% in ~10 sessions time. That's impressive for such an equity. I suspect this one is gonna close in the $16.teens or even down in the $16.singles...which of course puts the mid-$15's back on the table while eying the 52 week low area of ~$15. Aided and abetted by general market angsts. Dow off over 400pts so far....that's ~1.1K pts ripped from the Dow in....what...the last 3 sessions (inclusive of this one)?

There it goes....the bid is finally crumpling with intent...now $16.23 and heading back to the double bottom teens. If we're lucky it'll close in that area. If not....how does $16 sound?

  • highlowsel highlowsel Aug 21, 2015 3:08 PM Flag

Greece can't. China? China can. Think about how woven together we all are these days. Chine burps and the U.S. releases gas. Errrr...so to speak. We scratch and Europe goes looking for their itch. Nation States still exists, but ever increasingly it's a global economy. Throw a wrench into one area of the global system and you're bound to cause chaos all over the place. This time the wrench, imo, was China's wave of devaluation. The law of unintended consequences is again rearing its head globally as reactionary forces ripple out in waves all over the place....looks like BAC's bid is finally giving it up here in the final hour. $17.25 and being hammered...

By the way...the trend lines I always refer to are strictly mine, based on my TA metrics. They should never be construed as truth. But I find it curious that the bid has spent most of the day dancing smack around my March 20, 2014 $17.75 downtrend line. It looks to end the session at ~$16.32 or there'bouts. Color me intrigued to know if the bid ends the day managed to that particular dance line...or not. ;-)

That's a spread you could drive a truck thru. ;-) Meanwhile, I was just listening to CNBC rattle off a "rogues gallery" list of all the markets, globally, that are getting (or gotten) hammered today. Ugly talk by the chattering classes rearing the deflation word....in light of this BAC's bid has been putting up a good fight...the bid is now, for the FIFTH time today, at $16.28 and there'bouts. But the critical final hour is coming up. It's gonna be interesting to see how everything plays out.
