    Dow off over 340pts

Along with my older uptrend line mention I've also got a shorter term downtrend line from the ~$17.40 area of October 6. The line sits right now at ~$16.10. The HFT/Algo/machines must be using the same metrics 'cause not only has the bid bounced off the longer term uptrend line, but has (so far) been turned back by the downtrend line. 'Course...being turned back may be more a function of $16, options, etc., but I'm playing it based on thse two set-up metrics. Bid now $15.96 and the sell side has reconstituted their tactical game....I think $16 is the magic line...for now. Dow also off over 150pts...

John: I got caught small in the downdraft...holding it....adding a tranche at the ~$15.84 line which I just let go of at ~$16.15. Bid now back at $16.02. Oh....yup...I trade. Usually around longer term core positions. ;-)

Let's see if $16 can hold as (ultimate) support....gotta run around and check the action in the options "pit."

Okie: LOL! Story of my life. I am LOUSY at calling bottoms and tops. But...I usually hit within 10%? I know...that ain't sayin' much.....but it's also why I NEVER, EVER, go all in....I ratchet in...and ratchet out. It's proven a viable strategy for me....not sayin' it works for everyone...or every situation...but usually it does...and that's all it takes? Bid now $16.11. Psssst....you're UP!? ;-)

Park, Rpatel: Yah....if past is prologue to future then I'd expect the same. The reactionary fact is the Dow opened down over 330pts in reaction to the Sales # report (which was....bad). GILD got sucked into the vortex as a consequence. Errrr...imho.....but the Dow slide has abated a bit....it's crawled half-way back from its low...now down "only" 160pts....and GILD is reacting accordingly....more or less....bid now ~$94.70...I'm continuing to hold my earlier "get."...

Uptrend line holding....bid bounced smack off it and now at $16.04. Let's see how Master plays weekly opt exp in the face of $16....

Good move. I did much the same with other equities...most of my tactical plays have been shorts.....not here, though, unfortunately. But my positions I can stand....no pain....I like the earnings report and think it's indicative of year end and into 2015 at a minimum. But for now....well...all the news is out....and BAC is at the mercy of general market dynamics. With everyone running around with their hair on fire it's no surprise BAC is reacting as it is.....

Oh....bid now $16.09. Holding my "fire sell" shares from south of $16. Heh!

I've maintained an older uptrend line from the May 19 $14.37 area. That line sits, right now, at ~$15.83. This is exactly where the bid now sits. For me it's critical that line hold as support....if it fails then it's a possible free-fall to the mid $15's.....the sell side tactical game has abated a bit here....but due to exhaustion or simply a feint who can say. Dow also off over 330pts.....no way around it today is NASTY for a buy sider...

BAC bid now $15.84. It's being sucked into the vortex by the overall market. No way around it....down we are going....hard....down over 4%....per CNBC EVERYTHING is down over 2%.....adding another tranche here....

Look below you and you'll see me there waving one, too! ;-) Sidebar OT....GILD got hammered to ~$92.25.....I just HAD to grab some of it....

Speaking of grab....BAC bid just got clocked to $16.00. Opening a tranche here but also waving another down south of $16 just to play a probably overshoot. I seldom hit bottoms so I always ratchet in and out of positions....

Bid now $16.23. Like I said the sell side tactical game ain't bothering to wait for session open. They're pinning the bid to the floor right now. I suspect $16 might be tested. This ain't because of earnings...just simply because the overall market is setting up to open in "I"m being CRUSHED" fashion. BAC, chug and churn beast that it is, cannot swim against that tide.....

I suspect today is market capitulation day given all the worry and concern expressed in recent sessions by all the chattering classes and talking heads. The Sales # might be the "Aw frack it" some have been waiting for. Me I'm now about closing open short positions and opening tactical buy side plays......setting up for the inevitable bounce that'll occur sometime between now and years end. But for now.....well....it IS October after all.....should we say.....BOO!? Bid now .22

As good as the earnings were, in comparison to what was expected, the Sales report # was bad. I expect Master is going to use the report # as a mechanism to drive the bid southward. At least for now.....the sell side tactical game ain't waiting for the session to begin. They're underway right now.....bid now $16.44. Let's see if Master wants to walk Poochie south of the recent session lows of ~.30 or not...he's tested this ~.30/.40 area 4 times in the last 3 sessions. I'd say it'll be tough to move the bid conclusively south of it.....but saying this does not make it so. Let's see what he actually does....watch the sell side tactic game using the Ask as cover/bait. Bid now .46. Oh...Dow futures set to open south of 160pts...

But for today the pps will be roiled by externalities. Futures have the Dow set to open well south of 100pts. This due to the retail sales #, which dropped. And I will use any Master induced yank to open trading and intermediate term buy side positions. Let's see how the pps is played today. Current bid now $16.54 and being hammered.....watch for a resumption in the usual sell side tactical game....
