The market seemed to decide that $14 bucks was the bottom until further notice. This isn't new for PKT or network stocks, especially, lately. I was ready to buy some shares but I don't want to pay $14 bucks at this point. I guess you can read all sorts of stuff into this but I think we saw what Brear's PR program did for the stock last quarter - zip. This game of hiring an expensive team of people to put out the non-news as news isn't working for anyone. Selling networks is a slow arduous process and profits lag. That ain't nothing new and hopefully they've learned a better way to do it.
The notion that AKAM retreats is based on recent past performance. Like many, I trust you took profit but this company is one that will endure one day soon. They are best of breed and they have a robust business that one client can shake or break. I agree, if the market rattles, like everyone is waiting for, it too will drop but it sure has gotten more mileage than I expected. I got out at $42 and expected to buy back around $36. I have no idea where those numbers will fall today.
If you don't like the stock, find someplace else to play. No one cares and no one believes you don't have a reason for dumping on AKAM either so go away.
This board has been around for years and most here love a good fisticuffs, verbally. Until it gets into low brow meanderings like ethnic #$%$. Keep it right or you will find ignore can be very lonely.
BIDU has always been 'the' momentum stock and those who get in the way walk in the valley of the beast from China who will crush you like a pebble under its feet. Watch the volume and it will not lie.
that's what makes me nuts trying to understand options. Selling stuff you don't own and all that makes my head spin and it's spinning.
Or until China decides it should participate again in the boom. This was their favorite son a NY minute ago, and they like dynasties still.
I know little about the whole shorting practice, as I think it's anti-capitalist, but I doubt for a NY second this will scare off a single short. Once they gnaw their way into a guy's business, they behave like little furry mammals and spread like any other vermin.
Does anyone else get that lonesome and lonely feeling when you have a stack a cash and the market keeps climbing but you just don't know what to do?
If it's a bounce you want, well let's hope this sucker holds on and I have no idea how the shares were sold but I suspect they were bought by a handful of accounts. Demand seems to have ceased for the day.
Such a predictable press release considering the noise everywhere is Europe, Europe and more Europe. They want to blot out any fears and it's the right move. Sort of sad that it works this way but it was so queued to perfection to spring itself simultaneously with momentum and to sell shares.
They need to show they can close deals, and with all of Europe on hold, they better get their traveling shoes on and head for Asia. I don't know where the markets are for DPI right now, but the demand just isn't there. I'd like to see the government spending money upgrading their own technology, instead of pouring money into the bond market. The government agencies have politicized things so, it's hard to create a productive environment.
It just depends on when he can confirm profit from Vineyard no? If that blows up, Brear will leave. I think the numbers are fine and can't imagine why anyone would sell unless they want to manipulate the SP. Though, if I were PKT I'd do everything possible to keep the SP close and don't pimp it back up in the twenties. This company was never ready for that.
I thought this was so clever ...
"Procera Networks has beat analyst estimates 3 times in the past four quarters. Shareholders could expect a boost if the company beats estimates."
#$%$ is a boost?
