well reasoned bud, relax, to quote our buddy rocket , patience, another opportunity like aapl in the low 400s will come again. to be honest munger adds a lot of risk to brk, I don't like what he's saying or how he's acting, if brk can file on time and be in compliance i'm sure djco can too. buffett should show some tennis balls and ask munger to resign, and munger can go play games with the FEDS
bro, forget buffett double talk nonsense look up the word, sarcasm, dig ? U weren't here in 2006 when I posted the FSFE post ? I made it VERY CLEAR, even to you, that buffett had to split the Bs 50 for 1, authorize buybacks at, material discounts to BV, and initiate a 1.5 % or so div into a 15 % max tax div rate, to help absorb foundation sales FOREVER. everyone here knows this but you bud.
++ that Buffett has mentioned the word “repurchase” in his shareholder letters since 1977.++
fruit loops, how many times have I mentioned pam or jena since 1977, does that mean they got lucky enough to spend the weekend ?
brk expert, do you think I have brk annuals pasted up on my walls ? you dont know buffett referred to, INFERIOR INVESTORS, that a stock split would attract, bro, did you ever work for the IRS , maybe msnbc in the PM ? goose the stock is what aapl just did, split the stock, increase the buyback, and raise the div, check the aapl chart, its a beautiful thing. buffett has talked about buybacks for 37 years, yet prior to buying a billion plus from the estate of an old friend, IN TOTAL he bought an odd lot, in those 37 years COMBINED, don't trust me use your fingers and start counting.
morning bro, I thought you were going to say today you turn yourself in and seek forgiveness, I guess you haven't hit bottom yet. carry on.
++ Upgrading a shareholder group that possesses these
characteristics is not easy. Should the stock be split or other
actions be taken focused on stock price rather than business value, then a class of buyers inferior to the exiting class of sellers would be attracted.++
expert, would any expert on brk think this ? WHERE would a brk expert come up with this ignorant nonsense ? carry on kid.
lol, bro, I put the time wasting brk expert fruitcake on iggy, but I still read you, lmfao. that says it all ! AAAAAAAAAAAmen.
bro, you are polluting the board, you join the iggy list with the other fruitcakes, good luck, its been fun.
j brown on bill miller. great stuff.
++ Buffett knows that better than anyone. He has never liked the idea of stock splits at Berkshire because of the risks of attracting "buyers inferior to the existing class of sellers," as he explained in his annual letter to shareholders 27 years ago.
He went on to say that short-term investors could "accentuate erratic price swings unrelated to underlying business developments." He echoed the same views in his 1992 shareholder letter. ++
YYYYYYYYYYY, ???????????? No wonder I don't get invited to the annual brkb picnic ! ucmtsu,no way.
morning, I stick to what ive been saying for over a year. As long as brkb pays no div and has a 1.2 XS BV buyback limit, 1.4 ish xs BV is very fair value. IF the spy continues to go up every month we can trade up to 1.5ish since 1/3 of our market cap is spy type stocks. WHERE will BV be year end IF spy sells off 10 % or more ? How much exposure does brk have to a monster muni bond default explosion ? Is he shooting dice on interest rates ? who knows ?????
++ Dont want to get you riled up but this looks like a pretty good/safe put selling opportunity to me. ++
my new brkville brother, selling puts always looks good if the market keeps going up forever, REGARDLESS of the vix or the premiums. I gave you the best case, what about the worst case ? If little kids are coming in without their parents do ya think a few bad guys might be coming in too ? Whats the worst case , what can go wrong ? Not a bad question to ask while trying to earn 5 % annual returns. btw, you can do spreads to reduce the risk of getting hurt bad.
bro, in 2006 IF buffett had given me everything I requested, a stock split, a 1.5 % div yield, and an authorized buyback at, material discounts to IV, would that have been enough to convince you to go all in brkb ? At least 70 % brkb ? just wondering what you would have done, u already know what I would have done, IF, IF, he really had any interest in buying back stock, it would have been a true, no brainer. PLUS our old pal geepod would have been able to enjoy passing on his wealth to his kids and grandkids at fair value. I hope geepod didn't pass away tho I think he posted that he sold brk to buy the metal stocks a terrible mistake, if I wasn't able to talk him out of that trade back then ? YO GEEPOD, u out there old bud ?
mornin jad, I just don't get your thinking on this issue. IF buffett and munger and brks BODs work FREE while other companies like KO take more than 10 % of stockholders equity every 8 years or less shame on team brk if they cant outperform the HIGH COST companies over 10-20-30 year time periods. buffett just wasn't thinking clearly on this issue as well, we should have been a HUGE buyer of brk every time it traded below 1.2 xs BV over the past 30 years. The 1.1 xs BV buyback limit in sept 2011 was one of the biggest mistakes in his career and it cost the foundations BILLIONS in proceeds from sales ! BUT, it created a great opportunity for me so its ok by me.
zeroh, it might not be a great time to sell naked puts unhedged into an 11 vix ??
