in Tampa last week. Some takeaways. Focus owns 40% of Grafoid which produces the graphene that will power this company. They currently have samples out to eight companies for testing and when (if) these companies sign contracts, financing for the mining, which is waiting in the wings, will be released. The company has plenty of literature including pages of info on industries that are prospects for graphene and you can get it by contacting Focus. The reason graphene is not in wide use is that it costs $432 per gram and is too expensive. Focus has away of extracting the graphene from the graphite at pennies per gram (as I understand). One immediate use is for protecting from heat and fire in batteries. A thin sheet of graphene absorbs heat the does the work of much heavier and thicker insulation currently used. This will provide greater safety and enable production of a smaller lighter weight battery (if I understand correctly). CEO George Economu is happy to answer questions and if you are really interested send for their literature and updates. Commercial use of graphene shows enormous theoretical promise and hopefully will not wind up in the graveyard of other promising products that never got off the ground.
Was recommended at a financial conference on 3/14...and some people probably new it would be recommended a few days before that and so loaded up.
Good little company. I have been in it for about ten years and they pay faithfully the same amount every month. These are doctor-owned surgery centers and they probably own most of the stock so they are paying dividends to themselves. Volume too low for any service to recommend it.
Thanks for reply. I have held this stock forever. The same thing is happening with all the other stocks I have held forever...XOM
My 1099's are coming through showing 50% of JPM divs are qualified and 50% ordinary. Is this correct? I thought all were qualified and eligible for the 15% rate. Thanks for response.
