This isn't looking good if you're long. The short's power is certainly on display
sab, everyone here is just hoping it stays green today. Highly unlikely it will given this stock has been exhausted of all buyers, allowing the shorts to do what they want. I think the longs here would consider it a major victory if it even closed up a penny. That wouldn't bode well for tomorrow, but the longs would feel good today.
If the shorts are successful in keeping this down today, you are going to see an awful lot of longs throwing in the towel in disguist. Shorts know this and they will do everything they can to get this red. Once that happens, we could see a catastrophic bear raid instead of a short squeeze. Short have been hugely successful so far in pre market.
That's a pretty dumb question. They'd buy them out so they don't have to pay royalties AND to collect royalties for everyone else using them!
bill, I actually tend to agree. VHC seems very comfortable with the ruling and dropping the ITC case. Sure sounds to me they're confident settlement is a done deal
yode, actually, cancellation of the ITC case against AAPL signals VHC knows they are going to settle.
Can the shorts withstand a 1-2 million share day? If they do, then VHC longs may never dig out of this mess.
AAPL files to get judgement to stop VHC's request to stop re-exams. They have a solid argument. CSCO knows they have a solid case and they want a month to present it. Shorts are pouncing all over VHC as they know how weak it is. Absolutely nothing is going VHC's way and they can't sell anything outside the courtroom except for option calls. I honestly believe VHC might be in business to sell calls and not technology. Shorts are all over VHC and they're absolutely correct.
No need paws, I've just deleted my Yahoo account. I'm the original Hogan and I don't know how Yahoo let this happen. They're looking into it. I will no longer be posting as hogan516. Anyone else is an imposter.
That hogan is an imposter.
Not much to say anymore. Judge doesn't appear he's going to rule until after CSCO or maybe even after Avaya. VHC can't get any business outside the courtroom. Given these circumstances, it appears VHC is headed straight for the 20's. Who is going to invest in a company that appears more interested in selling call options than selling products.
What a disgrace this stock is. The shorts love this company. What could be better than a company who can't sell anything on their own and has to rely on making money in the courtroom! It doesn't get any easier than shorting junk like this.
Just take a look at RMBS and you'll see where we're headed. Nobody has ever seen a stupid short. They know what's going on and this train wreck is headed into oblivion. This is a concerted effort to keep this stock on a downtrend with no news. Shorts realize this and they will play this into the ground. Just remember, no judge is going to stick his neck out and make a harmful judgement against AAPL.
augman, no chance he'll enter a ruling before the CSCO trial. He will be using the CSCO outcome as his guide on how to rule against AAPL. There's not even a question about that. That way, whatever he rules against AAPL,. he can just point to the CSCO trial as a reference. There's not even a question that this is why the judge is waiting. As I explained to you, no judge is going to put his neck on the line and rule against AAPL. This way, whatever happens, he can point to the CSCO outcome as a reference for his ruling.
willie, the problem you have is this appeal process and delay will go on for years. Just because they are denied an appeal at one level doesn't mean all avenues are exhausted. VHC is at AAPL's mercy. AAPL calls the shots here and they'll settle if and when they're ever ready. AAPL will tell VHC what royalty and penalties they will pay. You think VHC is going to argue, as long as they're getting something? AAPL knows it's clearly in the driver's seat and they won't do anything for at least a couple more years.
This has to be painful for many to watch the next RMBS deteriorate. Not a buyer to be found and the stock continues lower. No buyers means no confidence in what the judge is going to rule or that VHC can beat CSCO. This company has already seen its' better days since the closer we get to LTE Advanced, the more this company is showing they can't sell anything.
