Instead of selecting thumbs down ratings on my posts, why not spend time covering so you can move you negative cut and past operation to another board. Have a good week going under water.
A soda straw with replaceable filter that will filter out phosphate as you drink your cola or juice drink. Or a straw made of a composite material and a flow restrictor that will absorb phosphate as the controlled flow of beverage passes through it.
"THE RAJ EFFECT" bringing PATENT PROTECTED products to the market place with great potential for partnering. Think Lilly would not want to add this technology?
iome70, you should cover. I suspect that after reading the last two patents granted SPPI with broad protection for the manufacturing process and the variable range of applications from medical to industrial and including environmental water treatment ( Think Fracking and resulting ground water problems) you could be under water in a BIG way. MARGIN CALL!
The compounds of the present invention are also useful for binding or absorbing anions such as phosphate in the gastrointestinal tract of mammals. Accordingly, one use of the compounds of the present invention is to treat high serum phosphate levels in patients with end-stage renal disease undergoing kidney dialysis. In this aspect, the compounds may be provided in a filter that is fluidically connected with a kidney dialysis machine such that the phosphate content in the blood is reduced after passing through the filter.
The use of rare earth hydrated oxides, particularly hydrated oxides of La, Ce, and Y to bind phosphate is disclosed in Japanese published patent application 61-004529 (1986). Similarly, U.S. Pat. No. 5,968,976 discloses a lanthanum carbonate hydrate to remove phosphate in the gastrointestinal tract and to treat hyperphosphatemia in patients with renal failure. It also shows that hydrated lanthanum carbonates with about 3 to 6 molecules of crystal water provide the highest removal rates. U.S. Pat. No. 6,322,895 discloses a form of silicon with micron-sized or nano-sized pores that can be used to release drugs slowly in the body. U.S. Pat. No. 5,782,792 discloses a method for the treatment of rheumatic arthritis where a "protein A immunoadsorbent" is placed on silica or another inert binder in a cartridge to physically remove antibodies from the bloodstream.
In accordance with the present invention, rare earth metal compounds, and in particular, rare earth metal oxychlorides, carbonate hydroxides and oxycarbonates are provided. The oxycarbonates and carbonate hydroxides may be hydrated or anhydrous. These compounds may be produced according to the present invention as particles having a porous structure. The rare earth metal compound particles of the present invention may conveniently be produced within a controllable range of surface areas with resultant variable and controllable adsorption rates of ions.
With the sames share float and the bigger patent protected pipeline that has many products licensed to majors that can move product and generate large payments to Spectrum, the year end takeover price would be somewhere above $75.00.
If Raj keeps the share float low and starts to pay a quarterly 4-5% dividend next year the share price would move rapidly upward and grow above $100. The higher the share price and dividend the harder it is for short fund manipulation. Case in point. The Oracle Of Omaha hires market manipulators to move stock prices on his potential investments or takeover targets. (They came out of the Michael Milken work shop) That is why he has always kept HIS share price high. Spectrum should do the same.
Dogs and cats have many illnesses that can be treated with medicines used for humans. I have posted before about the programs that allow medicines and treatment plans that are successful in late stage trials for humans to be allowed to be used in cats and dogs immediately in their program where reports on treatment are filed as mammals are treated in one yearly reporting mode for 5 years. If everything is OK then full approval is granted.
Bladder cancer for cats and dogs is a big problem because they eat the same kinds of processed food that humans do. Because of their shorter lifespans they offer the ability to treat 4 to 5 animals within the same lifespan of a human. The use of SPPI's drugs and infusion therapies could become a huge volume business which would lower the overall cost of all compounds because of the volume.
Others will disagree but bladder, kidney and other cancers are probably the biggest killers of pets. ( I do not know that factually) and SPPI's treatment when marketed to the veterinary industry could become blockbuster products. People love their pets and regularly spend multiple thousands of dollars for their care. In most cases pets bring more positive feelings of well being to their owners then their own family members.
Is this just another example of Alan Greenspan's "efficiency of the marketplace" or is it the SEC's failure to investigate and prosecute those that "borrow" their shares from foreign exchanges.
What is your native language? Working from a 3 rd world country makes the 10 cents per post you get from The Street go a long way towards some brightly colored dirt for your kitchen floor.
It is the market maker Knight Trading messing with the market today.
Pulling the tape, showed that the bid ask spread was regularly going to the 10-12 cent range as the price was being manipulated. This is not the usual for SPPI unless a multiple party manipulation event is in progress.
Market makers do not go on vacation. Their work is mostly done by computers anyway. The trading was controlled in a tight range once again which may indicate a large position is being taken and someone with knowledge of the trade is preventing it from going down in price. My guess is the support is coming from the market maker.
Bioblitz1: The people that pay you to post scripted B_S on this message board are part of a group of biotech hedge funds the specialize in pumping, then dumping shares of small biotech stocks. The fact that most investors are in for the long haul makes it easy to manipulate the stock price up so they can then sell short and make money on both sides of the trade.
The poorly worded style of writing you use, leads me to believe you live in a country where the 10 cents you were paid for the post will feed a family of 4 for a day.
The criminal investigation should look at the top 13 shareholders in Spectrum and their trading record, investments and SEC records. They might find some interesting connections
SEC Charges Millennium Partners, L.P., Israel Englander, and Others for Engaging in Fraudulent Market Timing Scheme. Respondents to Pay over $180 Million in Disgorgement and Penalties
Millennium created approximately 100 new legal entities, with unrelated names, to hide its identity thereby enabling it to execute market timing trades in mutual fund shares without detection by the mutual fund families. The entities opened over 1,000 accounts at various brokerage firms in order to further conceal the fact that Millennium's market timing was being conducted by the same entity.
Law firms, SEC, & insiders always share the information.
That last jump was selling into the big short they set up to take it down on Monday. The $7.00 Puts will influence the action next week
Caveman.smile: You are correct. As a long, I get so tired of reading about how bad this company is and that Raj needs to be replaced. SPPI has so many good things going for it and deserves a higher share price. The hedge funds always like to short the smaller companies with low share count, low daily volume and LONGS that will hold on to their shares while the shorts work their HFT magic on the share price. With SPPI you also have the market manipulating Knight Trading as the market maker.
