I'd love to see some upgrades and increased estimates.
Short interest is higher than I've seen in a LONG time!
Fair enough comments.
I've watched Novatel for many years.
The stock price has always been volatile.
When times are good, they are REALLY good.
Right now, in my opinion Novatel is very undervalued.
If you look at the EPS trend, it is moving up.
They reported a profitable quarter not too long ago and just bought 2 profitable companies.
I'm betting a lot that they are sowing some pretty good seeds.
It would be nice if it turned out to be magic beans like Jack and the Beanstalk. HAHAHA...
We shall see.
All these major investors gives me additional confidence as well as officers taking shares in the place of salary.
In my opinion, shorting should also be tracked and you should have to notify the SEC in the same way that buys are. Then, we (regular investors) could spot a lot more of the nonsense going on with stock prices.
This management team has proven that they can't generate 1 bit of enthusiasm with they're company.
NOBODY IS BUYING HERE AT 62 FREAKING CENTS!!!
CAN YOU SAY POS???
Why is the CEO not fired at this point???
This is another problem with public companies.
I don't see any accountability to share holders.
No wonder, the trust level is so low with Wall Street.
SO MR CEO. In your last conference you mentioned building shareholder value.
And his average was $4.64 so over 2 million shares with an average price of $4.64.
Just have to hold this for a while.
Wait - here's another WORSE #9 - 977,00+ shares traded down to as low as .67 cents after that conference call - What does that tell you?
The only reason I'm holding is because I have lost so much.
In percentages over 75%.
I'm just watching my investment evaporate into NOTHING!
I'll tell you what has turned for the worse (at least for share holders).
The stock is now under a dollar which means management has not managed their company very well and investors don't believe the story (WORSE #1).
They've already diluted to death and had reverse splits. This is ongoing since inception (what 2005). (WORSE #2)
So far, they have not completed 1 single product. (WORSE #3)
In previous conference calls, they have promised partnerships.
In current investor eyes, those are fiction and have failed to materialize. They are recorded. (WORSE #4)
The last conference the CEO said something about increasing shareholder value. Has that happened? As of today August 14th 2015, the share price is $.7316 (WORSE #5)
This is also worse - how do you not ask the FDA about an unapproved syringe before a trial even starts? IT"S UNAPPROVED!!! (WORSE #6)
Also, from the call I didn't hear anything about getting their diabetes formulations to full approval from the FDA and out on the market. Did I miss something? Is this a prelude to another dilution, reverse split, etc? I thought they have enough cash to get at least 1 product approved, a partner, something? (WORSE #7)
During the conference call I heard a bunch of "Oh we can't comment on that or we can't talk about that" which leaves current investors in the dark. #$%$. (WORSE #8)
In my opinion it seems like amateur hour. Wait! This CEO took a $200,000 pay raise when he joined.
What fricken value have you brought to shareholders CEO?
The stock price has gone nothing but down since you've been in charge.
How the frick are you still in charge?
This quarter you announced you're using an unapproved syringe for a trial and had to stop per the FDA.
And your GEM device is delayed by a year cause you can't work something out with who?
I listened to the explanations on the call and I still am not clear of the reasons for any of this.
Who made the decision to use the syringe without checking with the FDA first?
Man, this is a joke in my opinion. Shouldn't that person be fired?
Waste of time until they produce 1 positive result that will bump up the share price
Instead another delay by a fricken YEAR for their injector???
in this team.
I don't know why I'm hanging in there.
Tell me how they can do anything for share holders in the next 6 months?
This is dead money.
Tell me what they've done for share holders since inception.
So far stock price is a consistent downward spiral.
until they stop diluting and start bringing in revenue.
Maybe you can't put a dollar figure on the technology they are developing.
I only hope someone is auditing and tracking so you know what you are donating to.
Can someone research and find out how many more raises they've had?
I would've thought they'd be spending less, not more.
On first glance looks like at least a couple hundred million more.
Here was my research back in 2010:
June 17 2010 - 10 million stock raise
June 14 2010 - 35 million equity financing facility
Feb 23 2010 - 16.5 million public offering
May 13 2009 - 11.3 million registered direct offering
Dec 15 2008 - 25 million committed equity financing
May 27 2008 - 60 million committed equity financing
Dec 13 2007 - 25 million registered direct offering
Apr 6 2007 - 30 million registered direct offering
Nov 22 2006 - 10 million private financing
Apr 19 2006 - 50 million committed equity financing
Dec 20 2005 - 20 million registered direct offering
Feb 25 2005 - 29.1 million registered direct offering
Total: 321.9 million raised
I personally believe that the current quarter at 54 million would be a 200 million dollar a year revenue company. Current PPS is somewhere around 100 million market cap, so it should be at least a double.
Take the Digicore with 45 million a quarter, which would make it close to 400 million in revenue.
Minus the 120 million debt, makes it 3 times the current value at only 1x market cap. That's $7.50.
If Novatel demonstrates growth, then it's a different story altogether because don't growth companies warrant at least 3x market cap?
That would be $20.+ next year with growth.
All my humble opinion and why I will continue to add.
So far Alex has had a bump or two, but is still executing his plan.
He is also in line with shareholders so gets to go on the same ride as we do.
So by August 2016, all my losses go away?
That will be welcome news.
Hopefully, there is some actual wisdom in this.
For me, a large loss.
Maybe 2015-2016 is going to be Biodel. We shall see.
That would be a great day!
We'll see the true intentions and true colors of this CEO within the next year.
So far, I'm not impressed as this is only a loss.
This is the biggest loss I have.
I'm also continuing to add.
If the CEO can execute on his plan, next year should be a great year for Novatel shareholders.
If they actually won a contract like this, then it could definitely change Novatel for the positive.
Of course, it's just talk at this point.
We'll celebrate when they announce the news on that one.
It's like $19,500 difference from the close so your guess is as good as mine.
I wouldn't do it.
I still believe in what the CEO is doing.
Try to grow the fastest expanding areas (to get a slice of the iOT pie) and get recurring revenue.
At least that's my take on it.
It's just a shame that we're going to go through this pain today.
I would like to see the CEO use restraint until the share price comes back.
It would be prudent to cut costs, get profitability, and focus on the 2 acquisition companies now.
The company disappointed for this quarter and next with lowered estimates so this is more of a long term play with the company finally coming around when the Digicore deal is done and some of those revenues are included.
Now, we just have to get through today and maybe the reversal will come when they go to that conference and talk about the long term having 45 million a quarter from Digicore and 10 million a quarter from FW added to revenues.
If those companies are growing, it will get much better.
until closing bells and news
