Do you even know the difference between a price driven variance and an efficiency driven variance? When profits drop due to a fall in product (crude) price, it is different from a loss in profits due to operating inefficiently. If you think crude prices are going lower and will stay there, then attracting capital (dilution) to "keep the lights on" doesn't make sense. However, if you are optimistic about pricing (going forward) and lower drilling costs, then assess to capital (via debt or stock issuance) can make a lot of sense to get you past a period of low profitability.

Goldman was successful getting it back to 2.03

You never know which end of the Popsicle that Goldman is "begging" on. It doesn't seem very smart (Goldman-ish) to come-in and start "shorting" after the sell rating. Whatever plans Goldman has for SD, they are more than likely acting on someone else's behalf.....for a FEE!

Ha! Bond holders are unlikely to do that. Forcing bankruptcy at this point could worsen the face-value of their bonds and there is a lot of uncertainty of what they would gain in a bankruptcy, unless they are hungry for the assets. No C9, you are wrong again. the low ebitda is due to a price-variance, not an operating-variance. The bondholders really couldn't believe they could handle the assets better than SD's mgmt team and they sure as heck are not going to leave it up to lawyers and bankruptcy court to sell the assets at this inopportune time. Next time, THINK a little.....just a little before you let your "superior analytical mind" (pfffft!) dump.

Yes, the world would be a much better place without alcohol too. Just look at the broken families, drunk driving, pain and suffering caused by alcohol. The world would instantly become a better place without alcohol ..... that goes for tobacco too.

No C9, I don't want YOU using marijuana for recreational purposes, you are apt to run me over when you are trying to operate your car. I want laws that protect me from irresponsible, dope-smoking, pot-pushing, low-life trash like you.

Mike, you obviously don't subscribe to western medicine. Go ahead, rattle chicken bones, smear blood over your threshold and heck, use a Ouija Board if you think that cures you, but I am voting for "western medicine" practices and procedures.

Anything that impairs our cognitive abilities should not be allowed for recreational use.

Marijuana is NOT LEGAL! There are Federal laws that prohibit the growing and distribution on marijuana .... it is against the law!

That's BS, marijuana impairs a person's ability to function and it makes people lazy. How many young minds have failed to realize their potential because we lost them to marijuana? The world would be (without any doubt) a better place without alcohol, marijuana and tobacco.

Christy is entitled to his own opinion on marijuana legalization. I am AGAINST the legalization of marijuana until someone proves to the FDA that it serves a useful purpose and can be legally distributed in prescribed dosages.

C9, don't be such a #$%$ Growing, distribution and possession of marijuana is against Federal law. Respect, acknowledge and obey the law until it is changed. While some states have legalized marijuana, you can still be arrested, prosecuted and convicted of a felony by the Feds (DEA). Don't be a typical libtard promoting the notion that you get to pick and choose the laws you want to obey. The law does not differentiate between dope-smoking pot-pushing thieves (like yourself) from 80-year old grandmas, that is up to the courts. OBEY THE LAW until it gets changed or start preparing your defense in Fed courts.

Share dilution is not a bad thing, as long as the issued price is higher than what I paid for them. The market price for SD shares is not based on current oil prices, it is based on where the market thinks the value of domestic crude is going in the future (discounted cash flow). Mideast producing countries are coming apart at the seams and their cost to produce is skyrocketing. C9 should volunteer to go work in Iranian oil fields to cover her losses on shorts, they will pay her well (grin).

Having the ability to issue shares doesn't mean you do it. It is just one of the alternatives for raising capital and avoiding a hostile takeover-under.
