Good luck with your treatment.....the Sovali is the even if they forced you into taking the interferon you should get comparable results.

Obviously good medicine doesn't always make for good investments but I wanted to share a bit about my experience and where I think many of you are off track. I'm taking Sovaldi and Olysio in an off-label combination. Two weeks into the treatment my Viral Load dropped from 1.1million to 62. My fourth week of treatment I was negative for the Viral activity. Though the Olysio can make you photo-senstive, I've had no side effects at all going into my 5th week. Total treatment is 12 weeks. So pretty amazing.
Where I think many of you lose the thread is on the issue of price. Both Gilead and the makers of Olysio have very generous Patient Assistance programs to help get the medications into peoples hands. But even that aside price is not the key.
The bad news is, that the FDA approved these drugs in a format called the "triple cocktail". That means Sovaldi or Olysio but not the two together plus peg-interferon and RBV. This is the least desirable way to treat someone even genotype 1A because you are still stuck with all the worst side effects of inteferon though for a much shorter period of time. So what's happening on the ground is that there are 1000's of Sovaldi/Olysio off label requests that have been denied by the insurance companies everywhere using the pretext of "off-label". And the fact is, it is BS because almost every drug is used off label in some situation. Given the choices available through the end of 2014 in many cases in can be desirable to wait for the newer drugs to hit the market then to cave into or wage war against the insurance companies and do the triple cocktail. I got what I wanted the way I wanted it so it can be done.
