heck with the parking lot. keep Guantanamo open; send Ricci and the old board members down there! no one will miss them
yet Icahn continues to lay there and just take it in silence, like McCauley Culkin in prison. What is his logic? People say "Ricci outsmarted him with the poison pill" Yeah right. Don't make me laugh. The Standstill is far more restrictive than the pp. Icahn volunteered to be handicapped in this way. Why? To get the board seats. But what does he hope to accomplish with those minority board seats? What are they up to?
michaeldale already mentioned this on another thread but I thought it deserved it's own thread. Credit Card hacks are one thing. This is a hack of a major medical insurer. It will be all over the mainstream press through the weekend and beyond. People have a sense of security with credit cards, which is somewhat justified... now this. People are coming to realize we really can't rely on companies to fend off hackers. These identity protection companies are the only tool individuals have.
The only thing I don't like about LifeLock is there is a ton of competition in this space. But it's a growing industry and as far as public companies go... the choices are LifeLock or Intersections. Take one look at the INTX chart... yikes. LifeLock is a far superior marketer. Valuation is reasonable. My money's on LOCK.
vvvvvv, you hit the nail on the head. It's how these offerings work. When I saw the press release, I thought the same thing "should have seen it coming." A little voice in my head raised the possibility but I ignored it!
"stay away from Chinese stocks"
that's one of my steadfast rules for investing. If you can't trust them, it's not investable. I've even started to avoid US companies with too much china exposure. dumped all my QCOM in the $70's for a small profit when PRC started going after QCOM for the "bribery" allegations. You are only hassled for "bribery" in china when you've rubbed some high-ranking party members the wrong way. It's how they keep everyone in line over there. Such a joke, all these American capitalists investing in communist china. muppets.
haha. I was just thinking the same thing and had to visit the board to commiserate. Dollar cost average... if we apply the discipline it's not that hard to ride their #$%$ coattails.. participate in their gains rather than fall victim to them
so what metric are you using? Im not very familiar with this company. i am in spwr, sune, scty. i recently started keeping an eye on rgse because its trading like a stub and maybe its a takeout target at some point. even if commercial sales were 80% of revenues.. still looks cheap here. single, do you know what % of revenues commercial sales were? im not an idiot.. but havent done much dd on rgs yet i will readily admit. thats why i am here, yahoo mb is a good jump off point for my own research - though i would never follow advice on these boards. only idiots do that :)
"we all want the same thing"
really??? They want Ricci's head on a stake on my front lawn too? I never would have guessed that. Well I guess it's good we all want the same thing.
yahoo sucks a big bag of donkey hot dogs. thank you for posting, Gary. Always copy before you post anything meaningful here. At least then you can try reposting when yahoo scrooows you.
Sometimes I think yahoo wants to drive people away from the finance boards. It's the only thing that makes sense, other than incompetence.
well said use. I agree. Nuan is a terrible trade. It's a long play for patient investors. Carl Icahn could care less about traders. Institutional investors could care less about traders. So.... traders on this board can wring their fists and complain - but nuan is simply a lousy trade. My heart goes out to long term holders who are on this board daily. Staring at the wall will not make the paint dry faster. I make money almost every day in this market... but not on nuan. Someday I will though and I am just as patient as the Icahn group.
1000 shares. it's meaningless. more to the point, why are shares trading below .50? Looks like a binary event with this stock. Either it's an easy triple or better - or it goes bankrupt, game over. I would tread very carefully but wouldn't fault anyone for taking a tiny position, as long as you realize it's gambling. However it is a real company in a growing industry, with deals booked. Trading 0.22x sales (yahoo finance)
that said - apple has been kind to nxp.. but I doubt amba would fare as well in negotiations with the giant.... see invn for an example. I won't mention gtat since the guys running gtat were just total morons.
