you will make some woman very happy someday , just listen to her tell you what to do , then do it ...
it took a few years , but Immelt has finally got GE back on the rails.. he takes a lot of heat , from dunderheads ...
Jack Welch did the equivalent of Citi (sandy weill ) ... too big for his britches and just bought a whole
bunch of companies that couldn't be knitted together , then he let GE Capital swim in the deep end ...
Immelt has shed some businesses , most notably GE Capital , and has made some very nice aquisitions ..
I like GE going forward , i've been buying for about year and a half , would like to add more , but need
to get some cash .. the div is certainly a whole lot better than IBM .. and it's very safe .. garce
i still think that Friday (and any other days like it) was some sort of scheme for shorts to cover
without burning themselves .. we'll see when the next short report comes out ...
they know there's a good chance for a steep rise and need to get out ahead of time ... garce
exactly ... HD has a formula that allows for a set amount of compensation ... more than likely , the
raises will mean a higher % of part time will be used .. dh's and asm's will have to fill in ... g
this is good stuff jim ... i have to believe that the consumer market will be a bit slow to expand , mostly
because the better hmds will carry a pretty hefty price tag for a while and there will not be a big gamer
market for hmd's beyond $300 ..
but deliver a solution to medicine or industry and they get the return regardless of price .. same for the
oil companies that have claimed a good hmd is very important to them ...
as i've said before ..the OLED pie will become one of the largest since smartphones ... we don't even need
a slice , just some crumbs will yield lots of rev ..
okay with with , if they pull a Rip Van Winkle .. that's why we buy these stocks !!!!
good luck , be sure to give a report , if you get in , but i wouldn't bet on seeing and HMD ..
i thought that they would have had a Z at the asm's , but didn't see one their either .. but that
will be about it .. a pitch .. but probably some opportunities for one on one's .. g
i would have to guess that you need to have credentials .. these things have rather limited seating , so
they vet potential attendees .. you'd have to work in the financial industry or maybe media ...
Sculley is supposed to talk at 1:30 , but we still don't if there will be live broadcast .. i don't care if i have
to wait a few hours and then get to listen to the transcript , it will certainly be nice to have some of that
content ahead of the er .. garce
it all depends on the subject .. anything financial would probably be a violation ,
product information , partners and such should be okay . remember , this pitch will be to
institutional investors to get them to cough up serious quid , those guys can all read the numbers ..
and will also know when the er date is and can wait a few days for update , but it's mostly
going to be about the technology and the products , with a lot of "what the future of hmds' slathered
on ... i sure hope that we can listen to a webcast .. .
also .. this is not a private meeting , having been advertised , though not open to general public ..
everything said there will be on record .. g
after hours action is our Bachman Warbler .. known to exist , but seldom seen ...
i agree with the previous poster , that Friday's action sets up Monday for a probable gap up and i believe
that we'll see a nice price rise on the back of good volume ...
there's rumblings under the caldera , native peoples believe that message from the gods is imminent and
the Crew of SS EMA is downing grog at brisk pace ... g
we want them to pick up where they left off , show us progress , then guide for robust revenue growth ..
we know that the team can manage well , so the increased revs will become increased earnings ...
the margins are good , as they gain experience , yields rise , prices fall and we get greater penetration to the
consumer market ...
the thing that will make all of the sailors agog will be the announcement that two more SNUPS have
been ordered .. .g
four .. not including the last 2 minutes .. that was about 6x volume .. the price should have moved a lot more , if not for some
force at work .. it sure seemed like someone wanted to
accumulate in that 356-358 range , evidently there were sellers
too .. there's going to be posturing, at least until the Roth and
probably through the er .. we should get more news in
March than we normally see in a year .. garce
frank ... i asked a question earlier .. am now pretty convinced .. .
somebody wanted a boatload at 356-8 and an mm kept accumulating to deliver at the price .. that may have
been someone getting or adding , but suspicion is a short needed to cover without blasting the lid off ..
as for the slide at the end ? .. 2 tiny trades , probably the mm setting a price ...
any way you cut it , such a large volume with no news is spurious , at best .. g
i'm baffled .. the price gets taken down to 356-7 area , then more than 2x volume trades around that ..
would this be the action of a large by order(limit) and an mm trying to accumulate enough to fill the order ?
can't believe it's a selling day , or the price would be much lower ...
this time to lock and load ... g
