that's a conservative estimate ... more than likely we'll see this start in '16... we have to
wait for a few more sets to come to market and let things ferret themselves out ..
to be certain , some of the big guys will trip on their egos , believing their own in house
tech will win , still others have avoided spending a pile of R&D , with the plan that they
will buy , when the time is right , but for now can't figure what will be the best ...
the bets will be place this year and '16 should see some serious heat in the sector ..
obviously , consumers will have the loudest voice , when the right product hits the
market , then the real scramble starts ..
regardless of all of our suppositions , guestimates and such , one thing for sure ..
Emagin has kept a hold on us and provided us with intrigue and excitement and
the ball is barely rolling yet ... garce
a couple of years ago , we were concerned about how large the microdisplay market would be , outside
of military ...
right now , the HMD market looks to be considered to be on par with smartphones . HUGE ..
as for some of the impatient crew members , on the matter of how slow things are going .. to date , nobody
has it right .. including the big deep pocketed tech outfits ..
in one of the of video's that Acy posted , the guy looking at the out years , indicated that soon , the
big companies will have to decide to build or buy ... aside from software , the components of HMD's
are fairly common and cheap , except for the displays , which bodes well for Emagin getting some
nice buyout offers in 2-3 years ... later ..garce
no , because Rudi and Marv Alpert used to swap wardrobes and save money .. .
I also understand that Rudi had access to JE Hoover's closet .. .
thanks lurker .. i have to believe that the first delay was the shot over the bow for us last year ... let's hope the next decision is favorable ..
one thing that is unknown , but could be just fine for Emagin , is that the competitor could very
well be another customer ... that's what's terrific about Emagin's position on the "chain" .. we
don't carry the risks of the end producer/seller , granted , upside could be a bit muted , but
it's like auctions .. the auctioneer could care less if the sellers get high prices or not , he gets paid
comms from both sellers and buyers , and doesn't need to maintain any inventory ...
we don't care who gets the contracts , as long as they are our customers and we can certainly
feed a number of them ... garce
it's doing better , because "they" said that we're doing better ...
it's just like back when i worked for large outfit .. raises and promotions put "on hold", cost of benefits rose
every year , and we were told .... " at least you still have a job" ...
we're slipping a bit jimmy ... back in the day , we could get these
guys to run away screaming .. we seem to be a little more
tolerant these days ...
you are correct , though , in that many of us have been
here for a long time and understand what the company and
the technology is about ..
LIFE IS NOT FAIR .. to anyone .. those who accept that , can move on to lead productive lives ,
those who cannot will remain mired in their own morass for eternity .. .garce
can you see that the US is setting up to be the next battle ground ???
Muslim population growing , Hasidic populations expanding geometrically .. both groups hate each other
and will fight to death in the mideast .... just a coming attraction to the main show that will eventually blow
up in the US .. unless , of course , our politicians get some spine and stop allowing the constitution to
be distorted ... all supported , of course , by the middle class , which will not be around much longer .. g
Google has no money concerns and they are casting a wide net .. .they seem to understand that eventually
there will be many different versions of HMD's some of which will have limited applications and probably
none will be good for all ...
there will be plenty of dust in the air over the next 2-3 years , as everybody trots out their devices and
some boom , some bust
excellent point !!! have you noticed , that an unspoken part of IBM's business plan has always
been to be in markets with little or no competition , or ones that they were absolute leaders in ?
IBM has no experience "chasing" other companies , nor competing on a level field .. ...over the
years , they have had business with Apple , but Apple always dictated the terms , unlike
any other partners , customers or clients .. A knock against IBM , going back decades , was
their impunity with telling customers what's good for them ...
IBM is playing a new game , one in which they really have no experience in ... they will spend
a pile of money trying to get on track , which is another key note of IBM .. whenever there is
a problem , just throw tons of money at it ... garce
great reason for everyone to vote for her .. just look at the polls , listen to the media ,she just about has
everything wrapped up .. if the gets elected , it will be a blatant demonstration of just how stupid the
American electorate is
yah got me , will i recognize the name ? i'm still biding time .. waiting for CAPITULATION
with oil / gas ... seems to still be a ways off .. then i want a pipe and a producer , maybe
2 of each ... KMI , EOG NBL , APL are under consideration ... someday i'll pick up
an electric company ... no' mo' tiny spec outfits ...
did you ever check out Emagin .. garce
YES .. cost = money = capital = money = equity = money = cash flow = money .
The axis of the world is greased with bs , but powered by money ..
every once in awhile , these things are the result of lazy or nefarious employee(s) but , usually it's
somewhere from mgmt and the blue pencils .. mgmt will never say "don't do this or that " , but just hold
back on budget or manpower and expect the job to get done .. that way .. lower ranked / paid employees
are shouldered with many very signifigant decisions to make for the lowest pay .. that's just a fact of
life that goes with all industries and most companies .. same goes for quality at a mfr outfit ..
... then we could run wild with conspiracy .. you know , some group of pipeline fans , doing things to discredit
the rails .. or maybe terrorist cells have been given direction to "destroy" America by derailing oil trains ..
for me , i need to know what's causing the derailments ... g
