don't feel badly ... they had plenty of warnings .. a few of us postage such , long ago ... they only wanted
to see the perfect scene and expected it to playout big time .. g
tried to cut/paste , but post was deleted .. anyway ..
i was reading through a blog site and here's a quote
" i was at the CES (2006) .. and standing at the Emagin booth at same time as the CTO from MSFT and
he was amazed at the z800 and said that this is the way to go "
I believe that it was shortly after that that the HQ moved to Redmond ... we may have been coached through
this whole thing for some time .. .garce
1/2 the season for the NYG's to posture themselves .. now in the catbird seat ... all set for the 6 game winning
streak , 9-7 should get in the playoffs ... of course when you watch most other teams play , the plain fact is
the Giants have 2 or 3 professional calibre players and no coaching ... clowns are always the most popular
feature at circuses , too !!
i don't see how the SC has any business whatsoever in the med care business .. what consitutional factors are at play here ?
from the get go ... it's been a states rights thing ... but then insurance of all types has
been this ... I suppose that there are individual cases that could be for the SC , but
basically .. Congress needs to address these matters ... g
of course they do .. they need to protect their big investors .. the ones who have a hefty short position here ...
i believe that the insts and large investors are waiting for some dust to settle with
regard to net neutrality ... cable squabbles and all of that #$%$ .... so.....
we collect the rent and wait patiently ... also , by the time the 10Q is reported ,
the balance should be stable from the VOD purchase ... g
jad , msft is one of the "big guys" .. they have more than enough money , to pursue more
than 1 avenue ... or even to market both kinds of products ... same for aapl and a few
we have to bear something in mind here , with respect to any US president ... that person
is no longer there as the beacon of democratic masses in the US .... he is the front runner
for foreign affairs .. just look at so many of the other leaders around the world .. i don't want to
send a "mom and apple pie " person out there , better to have a capable person . and
that means smarmy ... g
that's mostly because of the draconian mgmt's treatment of associates ... taking a job at HD is like licking
the bottom of the barrel .. HD knows this and in an effort to stem customer dissatisfaction , then eliminate
the human factor .. self checkout for one ... HD won't be far behind lows with the robot greeters .... night crews
stock the shelves , so there won't be very much need for many humans in the store ... work at the pro
desks could be handled from home or India .....
say what you want about HD's numbers the past few years , then consider :
*) 10 years ago , associates started as high as $14/ hr and Master whatever were making north of $30 / hr.
Today you see none of those masters , associates start at 8.50- 9 bucks and there are less than 50%
associates in the stores today ......
*) training is nonexistent (save Kitch designers) ... direction is poor , at best ... performance plans are
nebulous , such that a star can be made to look like the worst associate and barely literate , once-a- week
bathers can be made to look like a star ...
mgmt requires absolute control , or you are gone ..
then there is the scheduling .. psychology , a mess , geared to keeping desperate associates wedded to
the company ...
Using unsound business practices can often lead to financial success , but in the long run will wreck an
institution .. just ask Marie Antoinette .... g
as previously stated , ad nauseum, NES belongs to the shorts .. they will , from time to time, do some
covering and the share price springs back up , then more shorting and the price goes goes down ..
rinse and repeat
Once NES had to resort to the RS and rejiggering debt , that was the death knell ..
learn from this one , and you will be able to spot others that are sure to come along .. either watch'em ,
or hedge or just short . g
those investors (read insts / funds / large retail) didn't see what they wanted to see .. there has to be
something moving under the sheets that was not included in the results or outlooks ... there could
also have been a release from some other company , that showed better promise than BIND ...
probably shorts playing badminton .. they just love these smaller companies , where a little money can
move the price all over the place .. g
all small and microcaps should be approached with caution . for the most part , all of us have only
pr's and such to rely on and those can be very biased .
the stories always sound good .. nothing wrong with a little speculation , but keep it to a minimum ..
I will posit that BIND continues it's decline and may even get to a delisting notice , followed by
a reverse split ..
I got burned a long time ago on a few of these issues .. since then , i have watched a number of
them .. all follow the same pattern ..
the pr's rely on human emotions to gin up interest and put down some quid to buy shares ...
most retail investors feel that they will miss a huge move by waiting .. so what ??? some
of these do turn out to be the real thing .. but investors have plenty of time to get in ,
even after the damned things double or triple, on their ways to 20X gains ... don't worry so
much about missing the first move because there will be plenty of head fakes ..
for now , I have to believe that the shorts are in control ..don't look for a short squeeze , there
will be rallies , as the shorts cover a bit to let the price rise nicely , then take it back down ..
the lower the price goes , the more shorts make ... shorting a stock at 50 cents and covering at
40 cents is a 20% gain for these guys .. yes , they will short all the way to a penny ..
shorting at 2 cents and cover at 1 cent is 50% .... they are pros and you cannot beat them ,
nor out think them .. no matter how good a 10Q looks or the CC sounds .. garce
we're cold and dry around here .. i feel sorry for the folks out Buffalo way (Cheektowanda) ..
as for me .. we should be back to 50 by the weekend and i plan a late season assault on the
reservoir ... those finicky browns should be scouting their spawning beds .. might even pick up a
couple of smallies too ... then we get ready to auger the ice ...
we had our big snow dumps last year , so hopefully we stay cold and dry this year ... brrrrrrrr
btw ..i do not expect the cold weather to affect the NYG's .... the table is set for a 6 game winstreak
to bring them to the playoffs ... LOL ... feels like the days of Allie Sherman have been wrecked upon
us ... g
