so far , the price decline has been almost measured .. no more than avg daily volume on the ride down from
196 .. i would say capitulation is still a way off ... more than likely , there is another tier holding on in case
the next ER will surprise ... i doubt that it will .... another miss will probably bring about some healthy volumes and
i would not want to hazard a guess where the bottom will be , probably around 145 , but who knows at this
point .... in summary , i would not be in a hurry to buy back in ... even once the stock price stabilizes and
the market perception of fair value is met , the recovery won't come the next day ...
I still believe that IBM is one of the strongest companies on the planet and most likely will be successful
reinventing itself for the umpteenth time , but it's investor sentiments that drive stock price and those are
pretty sour at this point .. for the big insts. who will pour billions into a stock , they need to see a lot
more before coming back to Big Blue ... g
Cramer is not always wrong .... IBM managed to stay lofty the past 4-5 quarters .. as the big
guns get convinced that there will continuing decrease in revs , they will be selling and i have to
imagine that many are starting to build a short position
Y'all know that i bleed blue , but i'm not stupid , and also remove my emotions when it comes to
investments ... long , long term , i'm still bullish on Big Blue , but the stock price isn't going anywhere,
anytime soon ....
If you are holding long , this would be a good time to start playing the "sell covered calls" game .. garce
the thing that concerns the most , at this juncture , is that BMY will get bought before the harvest is ready ..
i just hope that if BMY is a target , that a bidding war takes place .. i don't think that i want to own any of the
other big pharmas who might wind up with the prize .. garce
again , i cannot tell the difference ... regardless of physical stature , dress and manner ,
every single rectum looks the same ... g
however anyone paints it ... current fracking fluids / process is expensive ... expect many
companies to roll out alternate methods over the next year or so ... i suspect that
HAL is using NES as a bridge until they get their own proprietary processes going ...
This is a highly speculative stock .. to be certain .. it's a play ground for day traders ,
but for investment , not so much .. .g
Rock , even Rip Van Winkle woke up after 20 years ... so why not the Rangers ...
they have been more than a pleasant surprise in the playoffs , after a mediocre
reg season ...
schatz gave a breakdown in lay man's terms .. now for the why ??
Emagin uses many non organic materials to complete their displays .. including the build of bonding pads ..
those materials are now , not allowed to come from any countries that are on a list .. mostly crimes against
humanity , and their products are supposed to be off hands .... just like the "blood diamond" trade ..
so companies have to file compliance reports and prove that the materials they buy come from supply chain
that does not include these companies ..
just another regulation to drive costs higher ... garce
except , that at this juncture .. the numbers do not look so good and their
is the spectre of military cuts ... other than the cadre on this board ,
most investors haven't seen what they need to see to dive in the
deep end ...
Harry .. that is absolutely fantastic .. .how soon do you think that T will put VZ out of business .... won't it be
fun to know how much money the VZ investors will lose ... could be the biggest of all time , and I am certain
that you will emerge as Time Man of the Year ... hell , you might even receive knighthood from the
British crown , women will throw themselves at you and you probably won't ever get any solitude again ...
I'm sure you will drive the paparazzi wild .. and the BEST of it will be once VZ is no longer a going concern ,
the VZ board will be deleted and we won't have to see your jejune drivel ever again ... g
when Mort does convert , that might not have to move the needle ..i would have to imagine that the
buybacks will be used to convert mort's shares , and if I'm not mistaken , that action could take place
as an off market transaction ... g
Merten's latest newsletter ? more proof that this OLED game is still in the science phase ... Sony and Samsung
give up on TV's , also Samsung building a 3-5 bil plant to make screens for tablets and such ... this stuff
ain't easy , eh ?
fund managers are not the only ones laughing ..
i don't know what % of board posters actually buy stocks , i suspect most have 100 or so shares and their
only acumen is reading headlines and listening to hype on TV , net , radio ... attention spans are pretty
much in line with fruit flies ....
Of course companies like VZ have been and are still being walked down, but the real facts point to
US growth like we have never seen ...
Study history and see that the seeds have been sown and "industrial infrastructure" is in place ....
these guys will watch the market every day and eventually realize that they also watched a tremendous
upward move without acting ... g
future growth .. of revs , earnings , dividends ... also , since 1984 T has a great track record for fumbling ...
why stop now ??
these guys don't understand anything farther out than about 48 hrs ... and they keep looking for a single
headline to give them a 20% gain in a day ...
