Bill... how about giving us the name of at least 1 R&D company
that is profitable ??? almost without exception , R&D companies
are money sinks .. if they hit , they can take off ,either through
their own growth , or via takeover ... as i have so oft stated ,
retail investors seldom get the chance to buy into an outfit
like this until a well orchestrated IPO ,which keeps them out
It's like having a baby .. nothing but grief for 9 months , can't
hurry it , then life changes .... g
or "trolls" are necessary , in the scheme of life cycles , much the same as gnats ... they serve some purpose,
put here by creation , but to humans , are nothing more than annoying ... g
do you remember a phase that Obama once said ?? different than Bill Clinton , BO did inhale , probably
just before his con law classes .. eh ?
that move is about 5 years too late .. .should have been boosting the div , and investing capital into
some business that can leverage their patent trove ... g
just goes to show how screwed up Jack Welsh's program was .. GE was tracking a Tyco path , just
lucky they didn't vaporize ... it still takes 1/2 an ocean to turn a super tanker .. GE on a good track , but
i'm not looking for great cap gains for at least another year .. good time to accumulate , especially if
one has faith that the div will be increased in a healthy manner ... g
he's got way too many lines in the sand .. pretty much all he has been doing is playing on the beach ...
so much for community organizers on the national stage , eh ?
the big money that moves stocks like GE doesn't have clear vision going forward .. that's pretty much
what you are dealing with ... about 4 years ago i started a position and sold in 2 months for 10% and just
ahead of the meltdown .. spent 3 three years watching and got back in last year with intention to buy
when i can until pps hits 30 .. i still see GE as a very good long term investment , expecting the div to
grow nicely and sometime get some nice cap gains ... i don't expect much dramatic action for at least
another year ... g
my guess is that once 20 of the top US companies get domiciled overseas that we'll see jobs here at home ...
either that , or the US govt will relocate to San Juan and we'll be on our own ...
thanks Rock , am very familiar with options , but they are separate market ,
i kind of guessed that there are traders , who when they see an options
move will trade their shares based on the indication that they perceive ..
i just wanted to check and see if there was some direct correlation ..
so when some guys see a lot of put action , that prompts them to
sell , in the believe that somebody knows something that they
don't and visa versa for the calls ...
