just get those Hawks to bring the cup home .... once the Rangers get eliminated , if there is one of the
six in hunt , i go with them ... g
tig baby , you got all over me a few weeks ago , when the stock was 44 and rising and i said i was waiting for the pullback .. now , i 'm still waiting ..
not saying anything negative about KMI , but when a sector goes sour , even the
best companies take a haircut ...
One thing that concerns me about KMI is that debt level , not that it's unserviceable ,
nor is it unjustified , but oil/gas will still low for a while longer and there will
be some opportunities to pick up the weak companies , but KMI doesn't
have any dry powder ..
still , they should come through this very well intact and there will be more
up cycles ..
these are times to nibble , start a position and proceed slowly , the share
price it not going to explode to the upside any time soon ...
for me , i need 2 more quarters to see how tenuous the div might be , a cut
will bring about a very seductive share price , probably under 30 .. otherwise
it will be a grind until the energy patch gets smoother .. .garce
for now , I'm waiting to see if VZ will finally juice their div more than the token
raises the past few years ... g
this board doesn't like posts like this .. even though you just put facts out there ..
they like to post things about Cramer , but at this juncture , they are sounding like his
acolytes ... as i posted before .. KMI will , no doubt , be around for a long time , the
pps will be much higher and the div will grow ...
HOWEVER , the next 12 months are going to be big for energy .. as in make or break
time ... nobody will loose anything by biding time and being on the ready ..
once KMI bottoms(wherever that is) .. there will be a bounce and retest of the lows ,
maybe even double or triple bottom , but along the way , the seeds are there for
the div to be strained ... cash flow won't cover it and every investor should feel
Spidey Senses tingling whenever a company has to borrow to pay the div ...
It's just a tenuous time , and even the absolute best companies , like every prize fighter
that ever got into a ring , takes some shots ... garce
i don't see one either , but the conditions are becoming
ripe ... it's just time for caution and patience .. it's not like
something is going to cause the pps to rocket anytime
soon ... nobody is going to miss an opportunity for holding
back for a while ... from a TA standpoint , now is the time
to wait for a hard bounce , let it come back , then start to
buy , though you could see a double or triple bottom , not
only here , but with many energy stocks ...
people who are in a hurry always get there fast , even their
own demise !!!
spot on ,, thanks ... tho' i'm going to guess that if you get that 33 , it will be because of
a div cut , or one that is imminent ... what a long investor will need to ferret out , is if
a div cut gets discounted in , then buy right after the cut , or the stock will get beaten
down with the announcement of a cut ..
by no means , am i trying to say that a cut will come , so the trolls and cretins need not
reply , but if an investor doesn't understand the other side , then he/she has no right
risking their hard earned in the stock market ..
things may settle down in the energy sector in 2016 , but '15 is going to be a roller
coaster .. garce
those are some of the absolute poorest reasons for buying
or holding a stock ... RK is a human being ..
KMI is his baby ...
A mother bear will do anything to protect her cubs , including
sustaining physical harm or death ... same for anyone who
builds a terrific company ..
It might just be time for RK to back away ....
4 thumbs down , eh ??
are those because you don't think that the div will be cut .. fair enough , but currently
it does not look as sustainable as it did a year ago ... caution here ..
OR .. do you mean that the stock will not tank if the div is cut .... absolutely
wrong ... garce
just go to Yahoo history , then select dividends , you will be hard pressed to find 3 consecutive
distributions the same ... for an MLP or LP , the numbers are figured each payout period
and will fluctuate with changes in metrics ..
A dividend is a stated amount that will be paid on a regular basis ... and cannot be adjusted
for any deviations ... cut it or suspend it and there goes the stock price ..
after that , yes there are different tax implications for the holders ...garce
connect the dots nano ... you are spot on .. isn't the internet a wonderful thing ? giving dopes the forum
to appear intelligent .. much like BEER .. helping ugly people have sex since 1862 !!!
using the word "scam" identifies you as a gnat level organism ...
it's not a scam when the information is public .. KMI has done nothing that every other corp does and it's
considered legit by all ...
they may have made some poor business decisions and don't really want to own up to it , but scam ??? no way ..
these message boards need a Snowdon type to come with real names and locations of these board trolls ..
yeah , Cramer made a comment a couple of days ago to buy more when it goes a little lower ..
personally , i think that we need one or two more quarters for the big money to ferret out the consequences from
the restructuring ...
bear in mind , as mlp's , the KMI parts paid distributions , which get figured each quarter and constantly
fluctuate .. which means that distributions can be massaged to stay in line with other metrics ,
as a class c corp , that dividend is fixed and due every 3 months .. if cash problems hit then the div
could get cut and you'll see institutions run , as though KMI was a leper colony ...
oil / gas prices are going to stay quiescent to low for quite some time ... g
nobody with any sense shorts a stock with such a low # of outstanding shares , when the stock is trading
near all time lows ..
but then shorts can be just a stupid as longs .. how many times have you seen people rushing to buy
a stock that's at multiyear highs ?
i agree nano , the company hasn't died yet , matter of fact , it's rather long lived , working
on a technology that will stretch far into the future , amid signs that the worst years
are over ...
just hoping that some other SA or MF person will report on a rumor of say , 7/sh buyout
offer coming ... that'll jack the shorts , then when they can't find any shares to cover
they can sweat the price to 10+ ...
i have to believe that most of the shorts are youngster who never had to play the
back nine .... and do not understand what it means to be short on stock that essentially
has no outstanding shares ..
nano , that's exactly why those types have dialed things up a lot this spring ....
all it will take is a simple pr with $$/share bid from a company to buy the whole ball of wax .. they'll never
be able get anything to cover their positions .. .
i'm sure there's some article out there that has a 100 dollar target .. so what ??
thank you much ..
retirement is the key .. while not an expert by any means , i would guess that warrants are treated
a bit different than common stock ... too many times , companies buy back tons of
common stock , but don't retire anything
