sounds like your are emotional about VZ ... just another one who wants to see a big company fail ...
investors are not worried about buying extra shares for a few quarters with that div ..
btw ... the div was just increased ... all companies are loathe to start paying a div or raise
the one they already pay , unless they can see a long horizon without have to cut the
div ... btw ... aren't you supposed to be in school today ?
where are all the posters claiming Jonsrud to be a genius for throwing his own money away ...
facts are facts , and hype from the insiders is just that ... g
btw ... after drooling all over R. Hekmann , even Cramer reversed his thinking on this company ..
sometimes , the carpet has to be moved to find out what's under there ... g
yes , it's not like VZ (and T) were not prepared for this .. that's what executive boards do , they
have minions who continuously analyze and run models , and strategize how such situations
will be handled and play out ... in the long run , TMUS and S will get damaged from a price war ,
the big guys will take sympathy hits , but it's ludicrous to think that either TMUS and / or S are
going to put a big hurting on the sector , or the big guys ...
willy nillys who insist on trading in and out of these stocks are fools ... garc e
Seadrill ... CEO /founder just bought 33 million $ of his own stock ,
which is sinking ... probably not a good play there either ...
best thing to do with the oil/gas patch is to watch .... be patient ..
scope out your favorite companies and be on the ready in 2015 ,
even then , they might be a hold for another year or so before
returning fruit ... g ... no hurry , but brains and emotional control
are the watchwords .. .garce
this time of year , the tax sellers need some reason to pick one to sell , also there are folks who
have a nice profit and want to take some ...
yup the gravy train days are over .. that's what is going to kill Sprint and T-M ... these are reasons why
many invest in the best ... VZ will get through this just fine and the div reinvestors will get a few extra
shares ... VZ is not crashing , not going out of business , not in trouble .. it's just time to hunker down for awhile ..
good mgmt navigates through these things .. which is why people like Warren Buffet buy a company ,
not a stock nor play the market .. .g
i am hard pressed to remember any republican pres blaming the previous democrat pres ... Nixon didn't
do that , nor Ike , not even JWB ..
how about discussing political matters on a political blog and social matters on
a social blog and stock and financial matters on a stock message board ?
have you ever read any political / social blogs ??? are they all clogged up
with people who want to discuss stocks , bonds , and financial markets ??
cramer and any other analyst should be viewed as but 1 piece of a 144 pc table
setting ... that being said , what about the collective psychology of concerns
that actually buy/sell stocks ... VZ expects to take a margin (earnings) hit in
Q4 ... at the expense of gaining market share .. and these guys don't like
that ? markets might be getting a bit irrational , eh?
we're gonna see a lot of that going forward ... everyone will use previously technical terms as
buzzwords ... $200 ??? doesn't sound like much inside .... Sculley has stated that the IHMD will
target high end gamers at first ... they will pony up a lot more for the real deal ... g
won't be the first time an insider tried to prop up a stock price ..
this thing is just a money hole and the shorts are fracking it ...
be careful with Cramer ... in spite of a lot of negativity towards JC , he is very astute and does not hand
out free lunches ... often , he speaks of a stock or sector as being good or bad , but leaves out a few things that
one needs to figure out .... he is correct with this call , but says it in such a way that one might feel compelled
to immediately buy .... THERE IS NO HURRY to get into energy .. his reason's are correct , but there is
still more downside coming and better prices ... also , once the bottom is in , there will be a rally , you can
miss that one , especially since , after this sharp decline , there could wind up being a double or triple
when you the bottom is in , take a nibble .. then if there is a brief rally , buy more on the next dip and
add to the position with smaller buys over time ...
also be prepared for oil to stay under 70 for maybe 2-3 yrs or more ... that's just a possible scenario , but
you don't want to have a lot of quid tied up , should that happen ....
part of DD includes figuring out what might go the other way on your trade/investment .... know the risks
and for lord's sake stay away from the small companies ..
even the most ardent pumpers have left the building , more than likely , they were shorts trying to suck
more money in for their rallys to short in ...
time to put the fork in ... fact is , these things seldom just close up , but drag on and on .. and the shorts have to
keep lugging quid to the bank ... g
