I truly believe that Ford needs a mid-level brand between the Lincoln and Ford brands. I was critical of Ford for killing off Mercury. Yes, I owned many Mercury models over the years staring with a '56 Montclair that I bought in my Jumior year at College and kept for many years finally selling it in 1984. I owned Ford s and Mercurys my entire life and honestly feel Ford is missing out without having the Mercury brand. GM is having a huge success with it's Buick brand and many feel mid level brands is where buyer sentiment is at.
So, would it be worth bringing back Mercury, or is it too late?
As a current "non-holder" of SWHC stock, I say to the B.O.D. to put your money where your collective mouths are! INSTITUTE A DIVIDEND at the Next Meeting! You want my cash and the cash of many others who refuse to go back into SWHC, than put up or shut up!
Additionally this will give you good cause to also hold your insider shares versus liquidating them ahead of each opportunity.
I encourage all shareholders and sideliners (like myself) alike to call upon SWHC and tell them you want a dividend to demonstrate in a meaningful way that the B.O.D. treats investors' cash with some value!
Bottom line: The moment a dividend goes into place, I am SWHC shareholder again. Until then, no cash for SWHC from me, and I personally call SWHC a Sell until there is a dividend.
