I agree with you - FYI - I don't shop online to avoid the sales tax - I shop for convience and lack of annoying and rude crowds. I have contacted all my elected officials against the proposal but I am not sure this train can be stopped.

Why does congress have to act on this then - why don't the states just collect the taxes - I pay taxes on all purchases within my state - why do I have to pay tax on purchases from another state? Illinois always ask at tax time - how much did you purchase on line so we can collect the tax - I already paid all taxes due.
