I had to read "The Great Gatsby" in freshman English. I was too immature at the time to get the main theme in it. I did watch the movie the other night, and did know the outcome from reading the book back in the 60s...... and now I get it. Nevertheless, never a huge fan of the work.
I think rivvir perhaps this comment was directed towards yours truly. It is hard to tell sometimes on this newer Yahoo board design. Anyway, I understand your hypocrisy implication, but Juan and I have never savaged each other, other than the first time he mistakingly took my sarcasm on a topic as "being the other way". He did make amends as I recall. Guess I am loyal that way when it comes to down the road on things. Anyway, you seem like an intelligent sort, but my eyes glaze over sometimes as you ramble on concerning some topics. That is a difference between you and me. By the way, did you read the WSJ article about wind power and square footage? It should be on the net by now. Iggy.
Thanks for the friendly, but neutral reply. Beats scorched earth. Speaking of back in the day, I actually have a photo of the troubles at my university after Kent State. The main flag pole in front of the Administration building.........the longhairs vs. the frat boys, one trying to take the flag down and the other doing the opposite. I climbed up a tree to take the photo....by the way I had longhair then. Funny how one changes, at least me, over time in some ways. One, two, three, four, we don't want your #$%$ war was the chant then in the march of around 6000 students uptown. A stimulating time. Regards, Iggy.
By the way, I hope challenge you have an open mind on this, as he is a good ad lib speaker other than this flaw which kept me from getting an A rather than a B in my university's required Speech class decades ago. Regards, Iggy.
You ever notice over the years how to tell when the President is giving a non-teleprompter speech? The absence of "uh" every 20 seconds during the speech or question and answer session..............
Red light houses? Did the ladies of the evening wear an abaya and veil of some kind? I bet that was a chore for you to deal with....
There is an "enlightening" article about solar in the WSJ today. I would urge strong perusing............
Yes, I put an "n" where the q should have been. Iraq was created by fiat by the British/ British Petoleum I believe before WW 2. Another reason the Grand Mufti, or is it Muftee, whatever.... created Persian SS units for Adolph in the last big one. If you look up you can view the GM shaking hands on video with Hitler.
I just got a letter from Homestead. Lead Managers Stuart Teach and Peter Morris will retire by this years end. Prabha Carpenter and Mark Ashton remain to run the fund.
Challenge, I have held HSCSX since last July......not a long time.......but still very nicely profitable since then. It also has a relatively low exp. ratio which I like. On the other hand Homestead also sells an index fund, I believe its the S and P, and it has an incredible exp. ratio compared to most fund families regarding the same holdings.
Mr. Peculiar never mentions what it invests in, does it? The reason, imo is this........ By doing so Mr. P never has to take the chance of being critiqued on success or failure.
Thanks for the info. If they raised the expense ratio where I own it, I am going to be upset with Yachtman. I got jumpy when they sold out to the larger co. a couple of years ago.
If you mean the video by the Thai ins. co.....yes.......one of the better vids Ive seen in a while........Regards Iggy.
Just looked at my brokerage with UNP. It would appears is is splitting 2 for 1 June 8. . I realize this makes no difference in total value, but it does make one feel better about owning more shares. Heh. Regards Iggy.
Friday's Wall St. Journal has a great article about pipelines going east and west from Alberta, the Canadian oil sands, and their efforts to ship their product to markets which want their export. Article: "Canadian Oil Looks Past the US"
