You are embarrassing yourself for how little you know about the acquisition. Very few understand the economics of it. The BR purchase has indeed changed the future of COP. If you think COP did not understand the value of the vast and superb acreages brought to the table you are wrong. So many understand so little what BR added to COP. Stick around and watch it be THE legacy project of COP's future.
You have not a clue as to what you are talking about. It is a total myth that COP "bought at the top." The purchase economics were based on a far lesser ng price. BOTH companies realized the SPOT price was at only a short term bubble. The incredible value of BR was in its raw acreages it had acquired. Think about WHY COP has sold much of its foreign holdings in order to focus on safer lucrative domestic production ( crude, liquids, ng). It is primarily due to the BR properties. BR is THE legacy asset of COP. How do I know this? I was there during the acquisition. Do so looking into the basics of the purchase and you will realize the true value of BR to COP.
