  • Looks like Thrs. Oct 2 will be ex div date. Buy tomorrow (Wed.) to get the div.

No surprise there. The only surprise is the super cautious guidance with the low end actually below 2014.
Sumit should get a question on this later this morning. Possibly he went to school on Surinder's inability to meet guidance a few years ago & he wants to be an "under promise - over deliver" kind of CEO. That's OK by me. The market will catch on & pay up for performance.

  • I took the opportunity to average down that last 1500 shr buy. Looking forward to a good earnings number next week - better than last qtr. and significantly better than Q4 last year ($0.12). The PE multiple will get even more ridiculous if the shr price doesn't move up after that announcement. I like Sumit's style so far with the "good news" PR. It might be time soon to push that dividend out there.

Right, ole-ez. That's the worst piece of stock analysis I've ever seen. The guy who wrote it deserves to be as broke as he undoubtedly is. Fortunately for us, there are enough gullible and naive "investors" who will swallow this horse manure to allow forward thinking buyers to continue to build positions before the inevitable blast off.

1500 shrs. at $8.11. You're welcome. I had to round up a position & have been waiting for a pull back that doesn't come. The chart is looking outstanding!

It would be great if that position needs filling because Peterbilt / KW is finally moving forward. There's something not quite right about a deal that keeps one side investing & working for years while the other side commits, as far as I know, nothing tangible. Surinder might have been too keen for that deal.
I see that FLTX Fleetmatics now boasts a PE over 40 and has over 500,000 subscribers. If Vecima can pull off a strong entry (even after the years of zero ROI) into over-the-road telematics, the market could easily send the stock soaring.
The pressure now is all positive. If you're trying to buy large - good luck. I'd guess there just aren't many shares for sale down here below $10.

I'd say your timing is pretty good. I think we're near the bottom of the range, but one never knows what can happen to cause the stock to break out - up or down.

    Nice preliminary update for Q4

Ya gotta like this movement. Stealth accumulation, imo.
Re: Surinder's divestment (or not), I don't think one can overstate the sense of security that he has had with ownership of 13 million shrs. He enjoys complete control of the company & I suppose he would want the same for his sons & successors. The corporate model could follow the well worn path of other family businesses that pass through generations until heirs have no interest in active management, but only want to cash out. So I don't see those shares depressing the share price & I don't see an offering - the purpose of which is
normally to raise cash (which we've got in surplus already).

This statement from Sumit marks a departure from Surinder's generally tight lipped approach to investor relations.
Of course, it's much esier to be communicative when the news is good, as this is. The 4th qtr. net earnings had to be good to generate this much cash $0.25? And it's all from operations. We're getting even more undervalued. Some days I think it might be smart to sell everything and put it all in Vecima. Would that be nuts? Wasn't it Mark Twain who remarked, "Put all your eggs in one basket, then watch that basket!"

No, haven't read that one, but saw a movie with the same premise.
Are you thinking of Arris? They supply Fleetmatics, but are a customer of Vecima - selling Cable Vista & TerraceQAM. Pretty big company - $4B rev. Don't know Ms. Summers.

New multi year high. We've got to be thinking about this climb continuing - if only because the stock is still so darn cheap. To leap into the $10+ realm, though, the catalyst (aside from another dividend announcement) will, as always, be good earnings and the prospect of more. It's a few months before the next regularly scheduled report, but the market doesn't want to wait until then. I understand the virtue of diversification, but right now I can't find a more compelling stock buy. I'll bet Z_ is enjoying this ride.

nice post, mannchris. The expansion of the customer base should impress institutional buyers. This company has big time potential. will add on weakness.
