I find it incredible that short interest is still this high, more than 47 million just seems absurd.
Here is hoping for a pop tomorrow!
In it for the long haul!
Could they be covering then shorting in an effort to drive it down? That could partly explain the high volume? I could be thinking too much, but if there was a lot of overhead volume it would have come out a day or two ago. My hope is for a pop tomorrow and if this is a wrestling match It is one I would very much like to see them lose.
When David Okrongly said this bit during the Q&A last call it hit me, he really, IMO, sounded excited "..., so 2015 for us is really going to be, I think the breakout year..."
Shorts got a bit lucky today IMO, a severely down market shook some shares out, and they needed every last one of them. My hope is for a moderated market tomorrow and another up day for OPK because I don't think that this run is past us yet. Looking for $12.50 near term.
Standard volume, mediocre overall market action, stock up significantly and in order to find shares for sale they had to keep pushing the price up. Luckily I am long.
Popps, You sound like me know, thinking can be dangerous... I made up my mind once I was able to start accumulating last summer again, that would not be selling my shares no matter what idea came to me. I think that the Pfizer deal is worth a good chuck of the present market cap, maybe not the majority but a nice percentage, just one deal and for me this does not include the upfront cash, which helps OPK immensely!
This is a bump for "Even though it won't change anything for me and my investing, I am excited about when the updated guidelines will come out."
Thanks for this post Burnaka! I like that it is up on not that high of volume.
Even though we are trading a new higher levels there are still not an unusually high amount of shares available. Makes me feel good that we have a lot of strong hands. The way I feel about the shorts is that you have a few big money MMs who play the game, there being a coalition working together. Hopefully it will fall apart over this next month.
Frost also said that he is willing to be opportunistic regarding future deals. When he has that Pfizer money he will be ready to move would be my guess.
More products or acquisitions before June is my bet.
Ice, It is just a thought, I know wishful thinking. I am fully invested in OPK but only really a couple of thousand shares locked down plus my options... This is not me being a pumper so I hope you don't take it that way. ARRY now will NEED a partner, which I find interesting, and it doesn't look to be completely in the driver's seat regarding this deal, they will have to give/sell a share of that drug to a future partner, their future partner would have to buy in but part of their "buyin" could be thier European access, that could be worth the whole price to become a partner depending on the timeline. Would ARRY only be able to do this with one of its drugs? Would it be forced to sweeten the deal with part ownership of another drug or two since nothing is ready for market? I could be wrong but it could become a complex negotiation. Also ARRY will need to go to an organization that the European Commission won't feel threatened by, OPKO just seems to fit the bill. Just interesting to think about ARRY.
