There is absolutely no way on this earth that the SEC cares about this. They are a governmental agency that just covers its own butt IMO, preserving the status quo. They want things to be nice and boring and will ignore many items unless doing so makes them hit the news.
When your posts get thumbs down I see that as shorts getting frustrated, so I read it as the inverse of what they wanted.
Good stuff right there, lots of fact for people to chew on. I am guessing that things will shake out differently once we get to insurance reimbursement to OPKO but still 1,000,000 people getting drugs that cost $10,000 per year sounds great to me just to see what a small percentage of people with CKD on this could do to the bottom line. For anyone that thinks this stock is too expensive, in 18 months this company should have significant revenue from 4K Score (hundreds of millions per year?), Claros tests and Rayaldee. My one big disagreement with a fellow long is that this stock cannot reach $100 per share in ten years, I believe that it can in much less than ten years, plus hopefully pay us a dividend.
One thing I think might happen now is that people avoid biopsies, the reason being that they have the possibility of bad side effects another is pain. If the doctor says "You should consider doing a biopsy but it is not critical at this point." Then you avoid it. If the doctor says "You should consider doing the 4K Score test." Then if your insurance pays, you agree to it no problem.
Wall Street, Sounds very reasonable. Me, I am glad if it makes CPG. Hoping that the updated NCCN guideline will be out by July, no I am not holding my breath. :-)
That is such bull mcrisps when what he said is true. Someone is still accumulating this morning. That doesn't mean they will this afternoon but it bodes well.
Agreed CL. What if the heavy buyer or buyers over these past few days are also strong holders and also continuing to buy? What are the shorts going to do if some large fund ties up ten or twenty more million shares? It was my impression that the shorts were having a difficulty with the supply that was the last three months (because they have not been able to manipulate the price to the effect they have in the past). It will be interesting for me to watch what happens. It in no way changes what I am doing nor does it freak me out, not selling any of my OPKO, just fun to watch.
The way that I look at it is of course companies are interested in OPKO, but Dr Frost does not need them and most likely doesn't want them.
Saudi Pharma is an interesting idea. The reason I think this is that I have personal experience from where I live of Arab oil money trying to diversify out of oil for the future. With Global Foundries, a chip maker, used to be a part of AMD, the Arabs want success in that field at any price. They do not mind paying a premium if they believe it will be a long-term success story, they just want to be a part of the bigger picture.
It keeps going that way, the constant pressure on buying is amazing (I think unusual).
Are you a short? For some reason, for someone that posts occasionally under this ID, you are very animated and preaching caution when the stock is up massively on huge volume. Why today. Chuck said it for me, his answer is very logical. Ten years? I say we are close to $100 in five with $4 to $6 billion in sales. The idea that there can't be a short squeeze here with tens of millions of shares short seems bogus to me.
Not a $100 stock in the next ten years? No way? This statement does not hold water. With the catalysts both known and unknown, with a P/S of 15, it is possible. Ten years is just a zillion years away in the Pharma world.
I'm looking forward to that NDA getting filed but I believe more realistically it will months and months after that before you really see Rayaldee contribute meaningfully to the bottom line. We need to go through the cycle of proving value to the doctors through marketing, getting the insurance code then negotiating reimbursements... Yawn! I will get more excited next year sometime. As for the Claros device and those tests, Testosterone IMO will be a big one, as well as 4K Score reimbursements happening very soon along with the guidelines being updated... Isn't there a meeting soon that could possibly be a good point for those guidelines to be updated?
Sweetness! The push higher this last five plus days has been interesting, especially since there isn't a lot of supply of shares.
I am have been wondering if Frost, or someone in the CC, might say, 'Yes, NDA was filed, we already told you previously when it would be filed. Why would we repeat ourselves unless there was a problem?'
