OPLK all cash buy out was a desperate move to stay alive in the competitive optical component business. Don't be fooled by the $24 price. The stock has a market cap of
Yeah you're right. I didn't work at either company. In fact I am 53, live with my parents in the basement and consider a good day when I can get decent reception from the rabbit ears on my black and white TV and get to watch Jerry Springer. I am a fraud and you just outed me. Thanks for ruining my day. Back in the basement for me.
WOW what a story. I am so impressed. I so wish I was you. Live in South Beach, ex NASA Astronaut, model girlfriends, rich... dah da dah da dah da. Too bad you missed the moon thing. You are the best. HAHAHAHA
I dislike the fact that people that post on CIENs board for some reason think that they have better technology then INFN which has been proven time and again to be false. A part of me loves CIEN because back when they bought Lightera Networks in March of 1999 they me and about 45 of my colleagues multi-millionaires. But once I left in 2002 and headed over to INFN I realized how badly CIEN was run, took the money and ran. They have never been the same company since. Never will be. In fact if not for Core Director (Lightera Designed Optical Switch) CIEN would have been out of business years ago.
They aren't worth a whole lot anymore and on top of their debt. Oh my no wonder the stock is the worst performer in the optical market. I think even ALU beats them and they are really a POS.
Ha you wish. I think the $10.50 you are referring to is CIEN's PPS after Q4 numbers and the abysmal Q1 guidance they provide. Get your companies straight. Market CAP on CIEN is a joke. And to to think there (give away) revenue is 4X of INFNs. As always it not the gross it's what you can keep in your pocket. They probably pay more out in a month on debt then they ever make in any single Q.
I know people say in to dollar cost average. Well you will soon be buying at $13, $12 and below if you're lucky. If not it will open down $4 after the earning call and you won't have a chance. Keep smiling. What the hell else can you do...cry?
Welcome back. Looks like the market put CIEN in it's place. You should have stayed away longer. Should be $12 after Q4 results and Q1 guidance. Hope you paid for your trip in advance. May need to get a third job soon. It's the Christmas Season. Walmart I am sure is hiring. Not sure if you qualify but keep smilin they may feel sorry for you and provide you a nice blue coat to go shag carts in the parking lot.
I think Mom ate a 9mm to back of the throat. Between shorting INFN and CIEN's train wreak week he/she is done.
Net Neutrality will be the law. Creeding cable companies say they need to innovate. BS. They simply want to establish a tier pricing system. This isn't Sirius radio. They don't provide content they simply move it. Whatif you had to pay for AM/FM radio based on the station you listen too. Enough said. The FCC should rule in favor of this ASAP so everyone gets what they want when they want it. We all pay too much for HSI already.
A fool and his money. After short term cap gains tax and maybe a .20 gain WOW are you buying lunch. Lots of money for small % gain.
There ya go another dreamer speaking out of his league. CIEN has executed poorly and has discounted the basic business model of having a diversified customer base. They owned, beaten and #$%$ slappped by AT&T daily.
In other words... we have been AT&Ts #$%$ long enough and we need to be more diversified in our customer base. Like INFN has demonstrated and executed so well. Unfortunately we can't compete with them and they continue to eat our lunch. Gary Smith - Over paid CEO of Ciena.
CIENs PPS speaks for itself. No typing needed. AT&T is delaying that whole rollout as part of its reduced 2015 spend. Get your reality checked as to where CIEN is headed. They only wish they had the technology and diverse customer base of INFN. The fact is they don't and analyst recognize this void.
