Mar 6 2014
Nokia Solutions and Networks extends its relationship with Sprint through a new contract for the deployment of TDD LTE across its 2.5 GHz spectrum, which will increase its high-speed data capacity as part of Sprint's large-scale U.S. roll-out.
Under the contract, NSN will implement its TDD LTE Radio solution with the latest LTE-Advanced-ready software capabilities and NetAct network management system. NSN will also provide professional services. NSN's TDD LTE Radio solution features the company's Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Station using high capacity baseband platform and high bandwidth TDD LTE 8-pipe radio, which combined together will provide industry leading speed and performance to end consumers.
The demonstration that NSN - holder of the world speed record - is conducting at Sprint's facility in Burlingame shows a downlink throughput of 1.3 Gbps. NSN is using its commercial Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Station, which includes a TDD LTE 8-pipe radio module for the lab demonstration.
