Probably a bad idea right now. Hold out for a bit and you will get a better price. Most of the buying interest at .35 is gone now as volume has tailed off. If it stays flat for a few more days then maybe take a position. But taking a position right now without anybody else buying with you is risky...

A question for the PD=900+ believers

I'll take a stab at this belle even though I know you will squabble with any answer I give. I first and foremost don't believe anyone really knows what's truly going on with the supply and demand picture. Analysts make their best educated guess with incomplete information. So we get misdirecting reports in the media. Secondly, "big boy" investors buy positions and then pull their media strings to turn a profit. Pump and dump. Thirdly, I think there he interchangability between platinum and Palladian is factoring heavily into the mix. Over the same three years you cite, the spread between pd and Pt has shrunk from about $1000 to $700. I think price appreciation in pd has stalled out while the Pt market figures out what the heck it's doing. The strikes in SA won't start showing up in spot prices until there is realization that the strikes are going to drag on for a while. With a time frame being measured in months.
