writing SA articles, making bets with the IR guy etc etc. Sounds like you got too involved in the trade and now you are in a death spiral, averaging down situation. Best to take the loss and move on
and just think, HP got all that for petty cash. good deal, heh?
Agreed wyatt but the company must do a much better job of communicating their message to investors. Their press releases do not deliver a clear message on the strategic direction of the company and pipeline. In fact, it's clear they are written by an amateur. It's a shame because the pipeline is strong and the recapitalization has them poised for a big run if they can get the right attention

Renesas Electronics and Acacia Research Strengthen Their Patent Partnership Alliance
Collaboration of Japanese High-Tech Companies with U.S. Patent Licensing Leader is a New Trend in Japanese Patent Monetization
Best conference call in a long time. Vela was deliberate, confident, positive and more transparent than ever. Should see a few analyst upgrades. Maybe the tide is turning for patent licensing firms.
amazing what a company can do with a competent, pro shareholder management team
Extrinsic factors which could drive the stock - 1. Patent reform - tabled for now (good for ACTG) and 2. supreme court decision on the Alice vs CLS Bank case by the end of June . This decision could have huge implications for tech companies and patent assertion entities regarding software patents. Most experts believe the supreme court won't make any major changes (good for ACTG). Do some research on this, it's a big one for the patent assertion "sector"
he restated the same thing 3 times. I sensed a reluctance like he didn't want to do the call or something. 1.very strange, 2. very strange, 3. very strange
the company has a good pipeline and seems to have a good future, but holy cow, the message coming from the CEO could be so much better. There was nothing accomplished in that call. Not even one mention about how they plan to fund all of these future product launches. Trying to stay positive...
Damn, you beat me to it..

Acacia Research (ACTG) disclosed that its subsidiary Location Based Services and EMSAT Advanced Geo-Location Technology entered into a settlement and license agreement with T-Mobile USA (TMUS). The agreement resolved patent litigation that was pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
He said the same thing 3 times and provided nothing new. Lasted about 15 minutes. Maybe I'm just a big idiot and missed something obvious, but if i didn't, what was the point of that call?
