Thanks for the update...want to say thanks for the good information in a board with so much useless posts.
Certainly, prices are going up....LT positive...hope our production also increases. Seems to me KWK is close to break even and certainly a 20% pop in prices will make us profitable.

Once we are there, we can work a good HRB deal...where the price increases will certain bring us bigger $$$.
Like to be selling HRB with rice at $6 or better than at $4 and below.

    Huge jump in short interest

Good analysis #$%$...considering the number of share sold we held up really well...Steel Partners (owners of HNH) must have gotten their friends on the Street to help absorb this selling pressure. I did my best with my modest few thousand shares at 4.05.

What I do not understand is who would be selling at this price level...it is tempting to play the daily swing with 10,000 shs but then one day news will break and boom...and you're out of it.

Had some QCOR last week...was taking a beating last Friday...almost wrote some calls on Thursday, then hate myself on Friday for not, and then felt great on Monday. You just never know...

In the words of Artie Johnson from Laugh-in...very, very interesting! We have seen some EOD volume pops the past few weeks...not sure what to make of it. No price jump to match the increase in volume but got to think it is good news. For course for every buyer there's a seller but maybe these shares are small lots accumulated during the day and transferred at an agreed to price?

Quite frankly I am at a loss to who is selling anyhow...stock is down...mostly small lots being traded...are people trading to make 10c on say 3,000 shs...

I tend to agree...try not to look at this with "rose colored glasses" but the increase in volume seems to indicate fund involvement (positive news) especially some of the EOD high volumes...plus it is trading in a tight range...

Then again maybe this has just become a day traders stock...

Very quiet...thought everyone sold and moved on...how quick can the spend the $90 million. That will be news. I am think around earnings some extra news. Notice the higher volumes especially at EOD....trying to figure out what that means.

Maybe a positive vote outcome...does nothing for me but maybe it will move the stock.

If KWK is hedge at 5.06 for 70 percent what does the price mean to us? Any thoughts? Certainly long-term this is all positive and hopefully the 5.06 becomes 6.25 in 2015.

Did anyone see the article on Chesapeake and a drop in production? We have had a drop in production...do you think this could be a play by the major NG producers to get price up ... or maybe just plain economics.

Bottomline is price are not going down but are stable to up...

Geez even the "experts" thought the Lux announcement was good news...but BOA put fear out there and the market bit. Maybe this stock has more retail holders who can be panicked more easily.

I timing of the Lux news and BOA sell...seems so very odd. Max pain and confusion...puts doubt in everyone mind. No doubt Google is accessing feedback on GG and the Lux deal will cause some delay. Sounds like it will be a better product...better for HIMX in the long run

I am think the block trade on Friday took the dealer all week to accumulate the shares...without that event not a lot of buyers especially on a down market day. Commodities/Miners got hit hard...

Friday was a big volume day even w/o the block after hours...are funds unloading or is there something going on?

I would think they would put every free dollar into production...so they must be using the JV proceeds. Maybe that why they pushed off the earnings release. CAPEX at $50m would have really looked bad...but add the $90m from the JV sale and you have a number higher then 2013. Just would like to see a 10 percent increase in production and a 10 percent increase in price and now we are getting somewhere.

Thanks Bruce for a thoughtful reply...perhaps they have given away some production to TG...I imagine the "shorts" mentality...KWK must sell production to keep going and losses will grow. Once we can "breakeven" or turn somewhat positive its game over for the short and then we can get HRB to a better spot to get a good deal...

Just base on my gut...I am disappointed in production numbers but would feel better if NG price continue to climb. It is unclear to me what the increase will be in the average selling price in 2014...I dont know if I am seeing hedged or unhedged numbers...I seem to get about a15 percent increase over 2013.

They have a partner with Tokyo Gas yet they cannot make any real gains in production...what's the CAPEX for...just maintaining the status quo with older wells coming off line?

Most other players are increasing production...

That's my biggest concern is the drop in production...through they mentioned that it has bottomed...and their 2014 Capex is probably funded by the JV proceeds...produce will increase modestly but not a lot given new wells they discussed.

So I am not sure they are self sustaining yet and need to keep selling assets to maintain any produce...

  • investing777cpa by investing777cpa Mar 18, 2014 11:00 AM Flag

Any thoughts on production guidance? Good, Bad or OK...I am more concern about this than HRB becuase it speaks to the day to day health of the Company...can we support operations on the current levels?

Such much discuss on HRB but if we can get to even w/o a deal in place then we can be in the drivers seat in negotiations.

Let's see we can make marginal profits over the next few years and let tax benefits of $10+ a share go down the drain or buy some profitable businesses and realize the $10 plus for your benefit.

Does not seem like dice rolling to me...
