It's actually very easy to remove the bupe from the rod. No highly specialized chemistry lab is needed. Drop the rod into a cup of ethyl alcohol, and nearly all the bupe will dissipate into the alcohol within a few hours.
Then you can wait for the majority of the alcohol to evaporate, or just until your desired alcohol-to-bupe ratio is achieved.
Anyone doing so is being a bit silly, though. The amount of bupe in the rods is quite small, even though they will deliver the drug for 6 months. Because the rods deliver the drug to the blood stream bypassing the digestive tract (which can destroy a large amount of chemicals), and because it is a continuous delivery (no trough to overcome in a typical once-per-day delivery method that has a peak-and trough) it works to keep the correct amount of drug in the brain, with virtually no waste.
And it is bupe, it's not a powerful high. Drug addicts who want to get high, they want to get HIGH. This isn't the drug they want. This is a drug, for a serious abuser, will simply help them avoid withdrawl and intense cravings. And it's a ridiculous method (including getting implanted, removing the implants yourself, dissolved) to get something that's easily available in pills or sublingually.
Will some idiot try it? Sure.
Will he do it more than once? No.
Will he recommend it to his friends? No. They'd kick his butt when they discovered how disappointing this stupid idea is.
Braeburn has already trained 807 providers. And today is day one for prescribing. Not bad, not bad at all.
Whoever was claiming that the health care community had no interest in this product because the implant procedure would scare them off, well, it seems like the health care providers seem pretty interested so far. In fact they seem downright eager.
TTNP is one of the highest volume companies traded today.
On the list of volume leaders, it is nestled right between Microsoft and Facebook. Both companies have average daily volumes of over 20 million. Microsoft has over 1000 times as many shares outstanding. Facebook has several hundred times as many shares outstanding.
Congrats to all you long timers. It's been a very long and bumpy ride for this last 8+ years with you folks (I can't even remember how long I've been on this roller coaster). I'm so glad for us all.
I was terrified to turn on the computer this morning to even look. It's been a long time since we've had any really good news this investment. Ha. Remember the Fanapt approval, that seems like it was some other lifetime at this point.
Congrats to all of you who have been through the ringer, time and time again, with Titan.
