Do closed end funds do reverse splits like open end funds? Does an investor in NCZ have to worry about reverse splits as well as divi cutts?
@ilovesilver...NCZ has been in a downfall from around $10 since last summer, I wouldn't call that panic selling, unless you are referring to yesterday's price action regarding the divi drop. Will Allianz explain to investors today why the NAV kept dropping?
Par 7551....this is really something, and I remember you never thought it would happen, glad you got out when you did, that was smart.
bagman, good call on NCZ, it went down even further than the 6 bucks you predicted. 'Feel sorry for those who lost principal. So if the implosion materializes tomorrow are you buying NCZ or NCV? I don't know if I want to risk cash here, one can only take the stress of worrying about these investments for so long, I think I got to old to have financial worries everyday, whenever there is a hiccup someplace in the world, manipulated or not, means money lost unless you are a short seller.
@ gs68475.....I thought I would be receiving monthly checks from ADVDX for the rest of my life. When the fund started performing poorly, I got out as soon as I broke even at $5.70 and invested all the dividends I made into GABUX. Soon after I purchased GABUX in the 5's, it took off to the mid 6's and I was thrilled that I made such a good move and I could depend on a lifetime income but, a short time later GABUX started to decline and never saw $6 again. Fortunately, I was in GABUX so long I made more money in distributions than the decline in my principal, I sold before the RS at $5.22 thanks to the posters here warning about the RS, they saved me from this loser, god bless them. BTW, Fred Kane who replied to your post is not the real Fred Kane, the real Fred Kane made a similar post on the CEFL message board.
because NCV went well below his price target. I hope he posts his thoughts on today's price action, everything he said about NCZ/NCV happened, he has good insight regarding these funds.
Did either of you guys place that bid for 15,000 shares at $8.50? Fidelity rep. told me I wouldn't even get 5,000 shares filled. @Ray, that's a good idea, place several orders for smaller lots all at once so they will total the amount of shares you want, so you will get filled on each one.
ADVDX will catch up to GABUX soon, what a disaster! I see most of the old time GABUX posters are gone except a few, pierr must still hang around for old times sake, it was fun place to visit before GABUX sunk into the abyss because Mario never righted the ship.
Not everyone trusts analysts or understands every aspect of the yearly report, the knowledge I've gained from the yahoo financial message boards has been invaluable. In addition to learning more about funds, I was informed about tax ramifications, ROC, tax harvesting, etc. I can go on and on.....say what you will, but I greatly appreciate those who take the time to post here and assist others with their knowledge. I am of the opinion that finance/investing is not taught in high school so the average retail investor can be taken advantage of by those in the know.
How do we know if investors are really coming back or if Allianz is buying shares of NCZ/NCV with other funds from their fund family to make these two funds look more attractive to lure investors back? The more I learn about these funds from this board, the more risky they seem to me.
Is that investor relations? Maybe they are inviting me to the annual meeting in S.D., I hope they have free products as refreshments!
