so what is the difference between where GABUX was in the spring/summer of 2011 when the NAV reached about $6.60 and the lower NAV now? did Gabelli lower the beta on the fund so the NAV won't tank in a bad market, but in turn won't increase by much in a good market. or is my assumption totally inaccurate?
I piled into #$%$, 'couldn't resist the bargain basement prices. As one poster wrote; " I missed the Apple boat, but I won't miss the pot boat." Another green day for GABUX!
My electric bill went up substantially last month due to higher gas prices that Con Ed uses to produce electricity and is passing on to their customers, so now I am paying more for my home heating oil AND gas that I don't even use in my home! Those who use gas heat are getting increases from both ends, home heating and electricity. At least I have the GABUX dist. to offset the cost, if you can't beat them, join them.
My question has nothing to do with GABUX, but you guys are so smart about investments I thought someone could give me some good advice regarding an American Century Gift Trust account I opened for my niece 18 yrs. ago. She turned 18 yrs old last year and cashed it in. Our accountant told me that the summary sheet from American Century shows two sales, but only has a cost basis for one of them. I called Amer. Cent. and one rep said all the info is on the summary sheet, my acct. disputes this, but another rep faxed a 36 pg. history, so I assume it needs to be figured out. My acct. said to figure it out myself because it would be too costly for me to have him do it. The problem is I don't know how. Who has the responsibility to do the cost basis, me, Amer. Cent., or my acct? Please do not post links for cost basis info, I did that already. Would the IRS walk me through it via a phone call or a visit to their office? What should I do?
Why is phot being touted as best in the mj sector by seeking alpha and others? I would think once the pot paraphanelia that phot sells is purchased, there is no repeat buying needed, where mjna will have repeat customers constantly buying products.
Just wait until big agr like Monsanto gets their hands on growing hemp in the US laden with pesticides, herbicides, GMO's, etc., no one will want US hemp anyway unless it's organic which will make it more expensive, IMO. I decided not to get in on Hemp, Inc this morning because I am a long term investor, but it's seems great as a short time trade. Thanks to all the posters here who helped me make up my mind regarding investing in Hemp, GLTA
well, at least they are not required to get Obamacare with the small number of employees they have.
what's to stop the Chinese from lowering their prices for hemp making production not lucrative enough for U.S. companies to grow it here because they need to pay american workers more money than the chinese workers make? And what about the expense of Obamacare that US companies don't want to take on?
Did my due diligence last night on mj, and some seem to think that the mj dollars will go to big tobacco, big pharma, big agr. like Monsanto, etc. so these little guys like hemp will be knocked out or taken over, any comments?
