Dell Venue 8 Pro 32GB sale at the Microsoft store looks like a huge hit. Web has a very heavy traffic if you can get in. USD99 offer is out and is now selling at USD199, which is still a very good price.
Can't do serious work on iPad and Android. Meanwhile, I listen to XBOX Music and do real work on Surface Pro. Sounds very good on my high-end headphone.
the.lunatic6 is desperate. He keeps posting false news everyday. Maybe he is a hired basher from Samsung. Go trash an HTC instead.
Best year for Microsoft. They should keep Ballmer and kick the nut of Wall Street and the kool-Aid drinking media.
Geez, it only looks like a VCR in the photo but the real McCoy looks so much better. Just go to any store that has it and check for yourself. Actually, it looks small and fits better in my A/V system compared to the curved PS3. I like both systems to succeed but XBOX One won it for me.
Probably has to do with risk management. If it does not sell well, you end up having supplies that are sitting ducks. I believe MSFT should have produced more XBOX Ones as the demand looks strong.
At launch 9PM, there was no line at the Sony store (don't how many there were at 12 midnight). At launch 9PM, there were at least 80 chance buyers at Microsoft. My estimate was around 250 to 300 buyers at 12 midnight when I picked up my XBOX One. Despite this, Microsoft still continues to sell the day before Thanksgiving so I think Microsoft is doing pretty well. I can only speak for these 2 stores.
AMD benefits from both XBOX One and PS4 sales records. This holiday is gonna be a good one for AMD. I hope they do well next year on PC's and tablets. Their presence in this area is very minimal at this point.
Yesterday (day before Thanksgiving), I saw new stock of XBOX One available for purchase at the Microsoft store. I asked the guy in the line if this is a pre-order (the box is green so regular version) and he said no. Looks like Microsoft will sell a lot of units this season since they have units and the demand is there - the store was packed during the midnight launch. At the Sony store, no PS4 (the demand was also pretty weak during their launch at this store yet they sold 1M units overall).
The Microsoft store where I picked up my XBOX One has at least 250 to 300 people waiting for the consoles. The store itself was packed but everybody was happy and excited. Meanwhile, last week at 9PM at the Sony store I saw no one waiting (at 9PM in MSFT there were at least 80 people chance buyers). So either there were no one beyond the pre-orders for PS4 or the turnout was low (yet still made 1M shipments). It's gonna be huge success for XBOX One given this metric.
Apple and Google still scratching their heads why they did not come up with Live Tiles. Google and Apple's OS's are like Notepad while Microsoft is Word.
I've done my store hopping as well and predict 5 to 1 sales advantage of XBOX One vs PS4. The PS4 demo is always empty whereas the XBOX One always has consumers lining up to demo the console.
My vote for Elop just vanished after he announced his intentions for Bing and XBOX. Win8.1 is great because of the integrated Bing search and XBOX brand has a big following. Hopefully Mulally gets it. He moved from Boeing to Ford to save a great American brand. Personally, I still want Ballmer to stay but would prefer Mulally if Ballmer leaves. I don't want a Canadian destroying a great American company.
