At least there wasn't any news that was directly related to FCX's business. On the positive side, there have been several stories regarding all of the recent insider purchases.
We knew it would be a bad quarter, and we were right. We'll have some challenges ahead of us the next couple years, but I think we'll be fine.
Yes, and the insider buys keep coming. Another insider bought $1.4M worth of stock last week. What is notable is that the insiders are buying while the stock is going up, and not waiting for pullbacks. A test of whether a stock is a strong buy is whether the insiders are buying strength.
Howdy, bogwa! Glad to see you over here, too. WRES looks like a good long term play. And, if we cross our fingers, HK should bounce back for us, too.
Polo, that is nonsense, and you know it. Johnston invested $1.4M of his money in FCX for one reason: he thinks the stock will go up. How about Flores' $56M recent insider purchase? Are you going to tell us he did that just so that investors would "stock up?"
He also bought 18,900 shares on 10/31 at an average price of $37.12. So, that's a total purchase of more than $1.4M. These insiders aren't shy about putting their money where their mouths are!
I actually prefer the autumn(right now!). Cool October-November weather. And, yes, good Mexican food is awesome.
BTW, go FCX!
Hey louie, I happen to live in NM. The Univesity of New Mexico mascot is the lobo, which is Spanish for wolf. The mascot's nickname is louie. Is your Yahoo name a tribute to him?
Colombia! That's where I met my wife. We're going to Cartagena in December to celebrate our 10th anniversary. What company is he talking about?
Good luck to you, too! I'm thinking that we'll probably stay in the mid 20s for awhile. What was funny was reading the bullish SA article. She thought the pps was attractive at YESTERDAY's closing price of $28.36. I wonder what she thinks after today's 10% haircut?
If someone buys a put, he believes the stock will drop below that strike price before that month's expiration date. Conversely, a call buyer thinks the pps will rise.
The same thing happened last quarter. The day that they released bad news, the stock traded close to unchanged. The next day, however, we got clobbered. Well, I didn't see when CLMT hit 40, so I guess I'll stick around to watch the end of the movie.
