After you have done your DD, understand at least the rudiments of the science, look at the financial structure and, especially, management, what's left? Market Capital. When all is said and done, I have found--invariably--that the single-most reliable measure of a firm's worth is MC. And, sooner or later--when all of the hoopla has played out--a stock WILL find its rightful value and the price will, accordingly, reflect its true potential. Currently, AVXL is obviously undervalued (even taking into consideration that we are only now entering the interesting phase where the efficacy and potential of the therapy are being tested). The price WILL adjust. It may happen in a single trading day and most likely will be accompanied by a catalyst. I have NEVER seen the mkt. cap remain out of whack indefinitely. The science is real, the pipeline is advancing, and the prospects for Anavex are stellar.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
4:00 a.m. EST good news, 5:53 a.m. EST negative article. Never seen this before either. Usually the shorts, et al, wait until the price has had a chance to appreciate. Caught me off guard for sure. Of course, I will now incorporate such tactics into my repertoire in the future. But then, an attack could come within minutes. AF must have had his article ready to go and simply changed/added/deleted quickly and released. If anyone can figure out the strategy behind the timing ( a mistake?) I would sure like to hear their take.
Well, after all, he is a political SCIENCE major. He should know.
Anyone can walk a stock price down, it's easy. You sell, say 100 shares, BELOW last sale price. Result: new price now BELOW last sale price. When a MM shorts a stock, they simply borrow the shares, walk it down (see above), buy it back at the lower price and pocket the difference. And, simultaneously, purchase shares at the bottom and ride it back up, again taking profits in the reverse direction. Simple. Pick a stock, any stock. How about Herbal Life (you should see the story on this one; its a doozy!). MMs, et al, can take ANY stock down (however stellar the company and proven prospects/revenue) ANY TIME THEY WANT.
Good summary. December catalyst (end of or early January at latest) may bring an uplift in price. Hard to say if an identical attack will come again on good news. Possible, but you never know. I have seen the MMs and shorts take action and also do nothing. Continuing developments will determine price and, the most important thing to restate is: News is good to great and no changes in evidence to the downside, simply overextended and attacked by the usual suspects. When Anavex reaches its deserved price level based on trial advancement and FDA approval, these recent shenanigans will be a distant memory.
This is the main reason I am invested and bought additional shares in AH trading today. Catch the culprit BEFORE the damage is already done. Chasing plaque and tangle buildup after the fact has little or no therapeutic efficacy.
Short interest indicates expectation of decrease in price. How does that relate to "Short Are covering"?
Excellent post. Any idea (personal thoughts) on WHEN the manipulation may end.? Just bought more at $5.05...
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Thought I would counter your thumbs down. Nice, comments from AD patients appreciating therapy and a thumbs down. There are a growing number of people that hate EVERYTHING, especially anyone improving from a debilitating illness. And the beat goes on.
You need to update your bashing posts. Your comments tend to repeat. I notice you use the same, general, comments regarding a good many stocks. Just some friendly advice, never hurts to update your repertoire/skills. Thanks for listening; hope you're not offended.
I wonder if there has ever been a study to correlate their postings to pps. I know a couple of investors who are new at this and I have to burp them and put them back to bed every time they read one of these posts. You, me and others who have been doing this for a while take it in stride but it apparently get to a SMALL coterie of investors.
I randomly looked up a basher, "sg1757," and guess what? He/she bashes a variety of stocks. Imagine that. No positive posts regarding ANY stocks, just bashing. Interesting.
I appreciate chartists, really. But c'mon, the stock is going to go up significantly in days or weeks. I mean, I think the stock market is going to go up significantly in days or weeks too but I don't need a "cup and handle" to tell me that. Now, if you said your technical analysis is pointing toward a correction to the upside, like in accumulation, that I could process, but "days or weeks"? Unless you can narrow the timeframe, I can't see any way I can make much use of the information currently.
