Kratz: I've put up with the gibberish of this liberal idiot for years. He is ignorant as are most of the cretins ruling and ruining our once fine country. The ignore button is a good remedy. Flagging his comments as abusive is also recommended as they have nothing to do with business activities of FRO. I am interested in FRO, not the political drivel of morons.
why don't you just go away. Your political drivel over the past ten+ years is getting old. I don't want to see it and I doubt many others on this board do either.
Most likely metallurgical coal or anthracite which is used for making steel. Low sulphur content so not so much pollution and less is used than in the utility sector. You should stop watching the finance entertainment stations as anything you get from them will not be of any value.
cc: She probably bought the shares I sold when I listened to her. (that was the last time that happened). Japan was already importing a lot of LNG at that time at $16 per MBTU. And they will need a lot more. GLNG had a nice bounce today. What do you think it will hit w/in a month? My number is 42.30
When Japan dumped nuclear power was the time to get into LNG tankers. GLNG, TGP pay great div's and have made some good moves up and down. I listened to finerman a few years ago and it cost me big time on glng. She thought it had finished its run at 24 but was only getting started. It went to 42 that time. Maybe she is dyslexic? IDK. I don't listen to any of the talking heads though. The are entertainment, not business.
You said this gives up a fundamental amt of assets to SPA ( You didn't mention it was for $753 Million). Cha Ching!
JF said: This transaction will free up significant financial flexibility for Seadrill, and the proceeds will as previously stated be used over time to continue to aggressively grow our modern ultra-deepwater and jack-up exposure.
I trust his judgement just a tad more than yours.
China will steal the technology as they always do and push RDS out the door.
NO as most are just paper. Buy the metal. If you have to buy paper, get CEF. They hold the metal but not sure you can actually redeem for bullion. It is stored in Canada, so that is good in that USG can't steal it, but bad bc it is so far away. Read prospectus before you buy anything.
GDXJ is not gold. It is a bunch of small businesses who mine prec. metals. It is not as safe as the metal. Be careful.
Pre-market prices are not reliable. You probably put in market orders during pm trading, don't you?
I cannot believe the slope on the charts for D, AEE, DUK, PEG, SCG since Nov 2012. Makes FE look like a bunny hill. I used to own all of them but got bored with the 6% div's. What a dummy. 20 to 40 percent cap gains in 4-5 months.
Should take another look at EXC.
Looking at AEP, D, and PEG they all have had some real action going for some time. FE appears to be the red headed stepchild suddenly coming into favor. Could be a good run.
I doubt that it is the sole reason, although if ng continues to appreciate, it could continue the run. Are any of the other coal fired utilities seeing similar results?
OT, have you ever tried that anthracite pizza(Sebacho)? It is a relatively new chain and they use coal fired ovens @ 1200F. So bizarre, but the pizza is good.
Coal fired utilities are seeing the benefits of higher ng prices. Who would have thought ng price would increase with increased demand??? Another obama success (gag).
the spammers and 12 yr olds have ruined another board.
Our government in its current form is not worthy of our trust. Can you believe the sequence of crisis' we have been subjected to in the last year? I believe the massive wasteful spending we have seen will only serve our demise. The metrics the govt uses are bad and they drive bad behavior. Why save when I can spend everything and then receive my reward from Uncle obamy?
I agree that tax reform is needed to put skin in the game for everyone. That will tend to improve behavior. We need a lot more to encourage self reliance in the citizenry.
Vensh, we are at opposite ends of the political spectrum. I appreciate your thoughts on investments, but there is no reason to discuss politics as it would not be productive for either of us.
The indigenous people legal issue is more likely responsible for the move today. Jr. Miners seeing boost from the 1% au incr and rumor that bottom was hit last week.
Good luck. I hope you do well. I'm also big into GIM for a few years and it has been good, despite the paranoia of the manager. FOF total return 12% since mid '12, so it is also ok.
Good point. That is kind of a turn off, isn't it?
Prefer FOF, which is similar, but provides a higher return at a .96% expense. It has approx 168 different closed end funds in its portfolio. Pays ~7.7%. 9.6% discount.
