or a retail holder just wanting out. nonetheless today was ugly here. like looking in the mirror for me!
guess I missed that A train you are talking about. read the ceo's ress release re Corvette. Geez, I am wondering why he didn't mention 3D printing that you keep referencing.
Oh I figured out why!
B/C with a 3D printer I could build my on 'Vette right in my garage. How blind of me.
well well well we agree! he could have waited until after the first of the year and to some extent delay his tax liability. if something positive was on the near horizon (I'd say 6months or less) he would have held the shares.
On the bright side maybe he has been told adios amigo, there is the door. And the less stake some of these jokers have in the company the better off we may all be.
it is the pe to growth that needs to shape up here.Mr Market looks at future eps. mgmnt will probably need to make some tough decisions too. "may you live in interesting times" and we sure do!
I started this messy chain? anyway mgmnt is the key imho. It was what they do with the shareholders money aka the equity buildup. do they give themselves cheap options, spend it foolishly? Or pay divds, buy in shares (with actual share reductions!) make smart acquisitions.
GLTA b/c it sure looks like we are going to need it here. Unless mgmnt decides to retire and sell this thing to the highest bidder.
your welcome. I just emailed a friend in another state re GILD and he mentioned PFE etc. I told him I've owned PFE from the mid-80's. GILD for about 2 years. Came really close to selling it...but held off. They bought Pharmasett(sp). I thought they paid too much; 12bil as I recall. I've since at least 3x my money there. It comes down to good mgmnt in spite of what Warren B says.
I bought in the $4s2 and high $5's last Nov & Dec. I do not buy small caps for minor moves but doubles and triples. My issue here is that mgmnt posts these little contract wins, brags about their results and the stock goes nowhere. They loaded themselves up with debt which I believed they would paydown or re-finance. They have some hi-tech products but revenues are not growing like they should. Why...not all their products are defense dept related.
fwiw I am indeed a long term shareholder. I have held a good number for decades..many of them and that has served me very well
But if these boys can't grow revenues like a small cap should then it should be adios..to me and mngmnt.
then corporate insiders can trade amongst themselves....until the music stops and see who is left holding the bag...I mean shares.
I for one (that is all I am allowed to speak for) am getting tired holding these shares for mgmnt to sell whilst I do.
so you don't think it can go up 50% each month????
well there goes my wife's retirement. She will need to keep working to maintain my standard of living.
well I agree with the big boys not liking a roller coaster ride in earnings. But the truly big boys just shuffle money around based upon momentum or logarithms. so rule them out. further big boys aren't going to play here anyway.
in addition some companies have learned to manage revenues. maybe prcp hasn't. or b/c they are so small they can't. one reason could be is that most orders are too large and to "hold" one or two would dramatically effect revs for any given qtr.
you mean like the big banks? or like tech & pharma that massage the R&D numbers? or the buyout takeovers that caress the costs/benefits figures. Or how about the retailers that soothe the discount coupons? maybe the local, state and federal gov't that fudge every number they see?
get my drift? now go persecute some other company. there are hundreds if not thousands to chose from.
this ain't horseshoes Nick!!!! where the devil is that $17 you promised me? the bill is forthcoming plus attorney fees!
