Do keep in mind without owning the stock you're giving up the dividend, by April that's $1.26 you'll have missed out on. At $0.80 on Apr $27.50 calls your breakeven becomes $29.56. Conversely with 80 cents saved and a buck twenty-six gained your break even for buying VNR today is $24.98.

HYSR hemorrhaged almost $11M in their latest annual report with NOTHING to show. Not a PowerPoint, not a whitepaper, just one or two press releases explaining how Hydrogen is a good alternative. No duh. I had a few shares just for fun but forget it; if they're not serious about actually doing anything there's plenty of other green start ups that are.

All states have a minimum filing requirement for both residents and non-residents. Most states are around $500 for non-residents, but each year you should check with each state on their website to make sure. If you own enough VNR to break that minimum you most definitely will need to file multiple state returns, if not, get your broker to set you up with a DRIP, there's no such thing as too much VNR.
