    Earnings

EPS in line with analyst projections of 46cents. Excluding tax benefits from the prior year, earnings were up 11 percent. Revenue$958b vs analyst projections of $955.7B. Company says they are ahead of schedule re transformation. Focus on Digital Commerce Solutions segment of business which was up 27 percent in the quarter. Balance sheet stronger, giving company "more flexibility" re M & A. Company increases 2014 guidance on revenue and tightens guidance on EPS. Up nicely pre-market. Will be interesting as to how The Street reacts over the course of the day/week.

    Sentiment: Buy

Upgrades from Hold on 9/17/2009 to Buy on 7/28/2014. Looks like they just woke up from a five-year coma to notice a double in the stock price since last July. Are they upgrading to unload their position before earnings on Wednesday? Or do they anticipate better than expected company earnings and projections? If the latter becomes reality, I would expect other analysts to wake up and upgrade as well.

    Sentiment: Buy

EPS of 70 cents vs. analyst estimates of 60 cents. Shorts should be very, very afraid.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

PBI reports on Wednesday, July 30, at 8 a.m. EDT. If it can beat estimates of 46 cents and revenue of better than $955.73 milliion, the stock moves higher., IMO.Could see volatility in the stock price the day before based on anticipation one way or the other. It appears that only a handful of analysts follow this stock, and there have been no upgrades or downgrades since 2009, according to Yahoo. Still only selling at only about 13X earnings. I'm betting the earnings and revenue will not disappoint, with a positive forecast from management.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

No doubt about it; an investment in PBI is an investment in the new management. So far, those betting on management have been winners, while the "unimpressed, savy" analysts have missed a nice ride. Stock is selling at only about 13X earnings, with more near- and long-term upside IMO if management continues to perform, whether by bolt-on technology and partnerships or in-house developments.

    Sentiment: Buy

. . .at what's been happening at PBI since the first of the year:
    1/30 Beats Q4 earnings estimates.
    3/4 Refinances debt
3/25 Collaborates with IBM on cloud location services
    4/8.Launches startup accelerator in India
4/15 Partners with INRIX re location intelligence
    4/30 Beats Q1 earnings estimates
5/5 Teams with SAP re location-based data solutions
6/25 Partners with CocuConsultants Partners to create document solutions

Throughout the year the company has announced other internal initiatives designed to promote growth. It is interesting, however, according to Yahoot there has been no analyst action since 2009 when Brean Murray upgraded from Hold to Buy. IMO, the cumulative effect of company initiatives and earnings will soon attract the attention of analysts. And as economy improves, the stock will move even higher.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy
