......whacked with a plummeting stock value.
A Nightly Business News analyst predicted that after the split C would shoot to $100/share.
Maybe she was a little off but certainly C should be selling for a 12 to 15 PE like other banks. That would at least give shareholders close to an $80 stock.
Citigroup could be one of the most undervalued market stocks at a PE of only 7.
Citigroup should see big gains in their credit card profits as people turn their gas savings into purchases.
Retailers will borrow to increase inventory and expand ,more business for Citi.
As sales increase so will employment. These low oil prices are a "Godsend "for the economy and the stock market. What's happening is irrational.
......why isn't the market exploding instead of imploding? Gas savings could increase disposal income in the average family by over a thousand dollars. With extra cash retail sales should jump . Unemployment should drop further. The low crude oil prices seem to me to be the best thing that could happen to the economy. And when good things happen to propel the economy the stock market responds positively not negatively like we are seeing now. Just doesn't make any sense.
.....that the lower price of crude can influence stocks other than energy related ones. Saving couple dollars a gallon on gas means big savings for families. Big savings mean more disposal income. More disposal income means more buying power. And you know what happens when there's extra money in one's pocket .
I would think all this gas saving money would really give a big boost to the economy, increase employment and cause the stock market to skyrocket. What's happening tho is unbelievable and doesn't make any sense at all.
These annual million dollar giveaways to anyone who seems to need a handout just might put Ford in the government soup line looking for a handout someday.
Ford just sponsored "The Dueling Ice Sculpturing Competition" at the Plymouth Ice Festival. This is one of hundreds of expenses that subtract
from the bottom line, hence stock value. Ford sponsored July 4th Fireworks cost a million.
Ford is more interested in altruism than shareholder value. Owners should be rewarded before others not penalized by all these generous giveaway expenses.
Ford management ,you are very inconsiderate. Many shareholders have been with you a very long time and paid twice to three times the current value of the stock and would like to at least get their investment back for retirement.
Record sales and the stock is selling for considerably less than in 1999. Shareholders buying back then for retirement can't. Ford would rather give money away than to enhance their bottom line and increase shareholder value.
