Yes, it is interesting to watch a terrific product fail to succeed. They had Russia as a major buyer for the oil and gas and how is Russia or oil and gas doing right now? They have other future dreams such as the WMT truck, but that isn't happening right now either. Is it manipulation or just failure of the products to find buyers who want them? There is a huge need for infrastructure in the USA and distributed generation is going to be a major need eventually, but for the moment it is not happening as best I can tell. A lack of capital investment in things that will be needed badly, but can be delayed for the moment.
Over the past year or three I have seen firms from China snap up alternative energy firms that have fallen on hard times in the USA. For peanuts they are amassing a portifilio of alternative energy firms that will pay huge dividends in the future. Maybe you should begin hoping that some Chinese firm will pay 60 cents a share for this.
If the gas production business recovers or relations with Russia improve greatly CPST might do very well. You imagine that happening anytime soon? Distributed generation is a great idea - you see that happening over the next year or two? See any of the products happening over the next year or two? How do they pay the bills over the next year or two? Another win for some Chinese firm willing to buy intellectual property coming.
