  • I've taken the time to buy the last few days into attractive positions. Nokia is still my favorite. I have an aggressive long-term strategy, meaning I try and buy with every dip. When you get past the market's day to day hoopla the focus should be on individual stocks and Nokia will progress past any of these market interruptions.

    The problem with Suri's speech was that he made it seem like Nokia would be limited in growth. Many questions were also unanswered on how exactly revenue growth would materialize. Thus the slight selloff that day. This overshadowed the massive amount of positives. In the long-term, Nokia's growth will be in multiple area's that will be pursued. There will be revenues from all this. The sky is the limit, but without specifics, Suri couldn't say exactly how much.

    Nokia is on the cusp of transforming in front of our eyes. In the near future it will be a much more robust technological leader and most of us will be affected by it in our daily lives. All this has been developing and is underway. By next earnings we will be discussing revenues from new and exciting areas that current investors are unaware of.

    Consistent growth in Networks, new revenues from Here, a slew of products coming out of Technology division and finally intellectual property and the licensing Nokia gets from it will drive the value of this company much, much higher.

    Earlier this year and for the third year in a row, Nokia Networks was named as a leader in Gartner’s “Magic Quadrant for LTE Network Infrastructure”. Now it’s our small cells portfolio’s turn, which has just been placed in the leaders’ quadrant in Gartner’s “Magic Quadrant for Small Cell Equipment 2014”.

    We believe this placement is the result of our strategy when building a small cells portfolio that is focused on being the best in the market. One of our guiding principles is to always put the needs of mobile broadband operators at the forefront of our small cells roadmap planning.

    That’s why we ensured that our Flexi Zone base stations have software and feature parity with our macro base stations for best-in-class performance. With Flexi Zone, operators can add almost unlimited capacity and coverage to meet growing demand in outdoor urban areas and indoor locations

    That’s why we created Liquid Applications, which resides in the base station to provide ultra-low latency and high throughput as well as direct access to real-time radio network information, enabling operators to offer added value services to their subscribers.

    And it’s why we recently further enhanced our Nokia Services for HetNets with a new cluster-based solution for small cell delivery that reduces deployment time, as well as planning and optimization capabilities built on 3-D geolocation. Operators can now understand indoor traffic requirements floor-by-floor and thus provide more efficient indoor small cell deployments.

    Making it into the leaders’ quadrant is something we are proud of. More importantly we believe it shows that we have listened to operators and what they tell us are their priorities. With this insight, we’ve been able to implement the solutions they need.

    Keeping in front of the pack is nice, but it really means that, when it comes to small cells, we can help keep our customers ahead of the game.

  • Nokia Networks

    Nokia Networks addresses many product areas within the small cell market. Its small cell solutions incorporate its Liquid Applications concept to support value-added applications that require analytics and caching features. Nokia partners with Ruckus Wireless, and has a reseller agreement with the same vendor for Nokia's carrier Wi-Fi solutions. Nokia has associated heterogeneous-network professional services to support small cells.

    Nokia offers the most comprehensive product coverage of the vendors in this Magic Quadrant, with scalable solutions. Its solutions can enable neutral-hosting multioperator networks, and its Flexi Zone product suite can operate with a wide range of transport options.
    The sale of its device business to Microsoft provided Nokia with cash, which it has used as the basis for sound decisions about its financial structure. It now has an opportunity to focus its business on the mobile broadband sector.

    Nokia was relatively late to market with its small cell solution package, and only recently started to move its flagship Flexi Zone product suite out of CSP trials and into large-scale deployments.
    Nokia needs to align more of its services with its product solution to improve its go-to-market capability.

    It is a zero risk structure. Since Foxconn wants to get involved, and who better than Nokia to license superior tech to them, the possibility of endless products stands before us. You're correct Sydney. We now see Suri's/Nokia's vision even clearer. Very, very big move revealed.

    The plan is taking shape today. I hope more people understand now. We all have room to make money from here. A few people are very good to listen to on this board, Joshua3xxx being one of them. Hope by now this clears up the confusion.

    Nokia will rapidly begin demonstrating great execution.

  • First off, it's Android! Finally! Many Android manufacturers can't swing much profit because they have to cross-license technology. Nokia won't need to in this case. Foxconn want's to be part of the movement and this pairing works out great. Nokia supplies the tech and collects on the IP. No cost associated whatsoever.

    Microsoft was holding back Nokia and it's so apparent now. Today, that is all done with.

    Mr Haidamus also pointed out that the company kept most of the best engineers, despite the sale of its devices business. “Everyone thought they had all moved,” he said, when just 35 went to Microsoft. “This is a huge innovation team.”

    I think we should all review this post again since earnings have been announced.

    Some of us got it months ago. Now it should be clear what Nokia's path is. As an investor I continue to applaud Suri and where he is taking this company.

    The profile photo of the guy who wrote this article is about as dumb as the article itself. Nokia's plan is to get royalties and maximize income from that without cross licensing. Not only that but the Android skin is Nokia's IP. That never went to Microsoft.

    Did this author ever think of that, or does he fabricate facts to make himself sound good. It will most likely be many years if Nokia ever decides to sell phones again.
