  • Mitsubishi rumored interested in buying SCTY

That is the news on BENZINGA.

Add that with California solar legislation that will speed up the approval time required to get panels installed and will lower costs to both contractors and the end consumer.

These are both big winds supporting SCTY going into next week.

What kind of premium do you think ELON will require for buyout of SCTY?

Just the speculation alone is worth a few more dollars until it is confirmed or denied. Mitsubishi is a nice company and the buyout would make sense as long as TSLA could partner some how.

    Nice trend

  • looks like laws in key states are going to favor SCTY

And it it is ran by Elon Musk. Since Steve Jobs gone, probably one of the smartest tech leaders in the world with a great track record.

Do not bet against Elon, he always seems to come back.

As long as SCTY and Space X doing well, I would expect him to continue to execute on his TSLA strategy as planned and have good supporting winds from investor confidence and board confidence based on his track record.

He is a producer, period. He gets the job done. He thinks it is fun and almost funny to do the impossible. Three other great business innovators I know of had similar outlooks and their stock charts did great in the early years.

    1) Walt Disney
    2) Henry Ford
    3) Steve Jobs

Personally, I think Elon Musk in his lifetime may rank near the top of this very special group.

What really amazes me is the tough economic times Musk survived and then thrived after. If economy conitnues to stabilize and then improve, he will be one of the most popular auto brands with the most cutting edge tech in a market segment that the government and most of the population are seriously looking at and many seem to currently want as they can afford. (Alternative energy solutions.)

  • Obviously, they deserve to be punished for the guidance and qtr.

But, based on the $450 buy back and the fact that we all know they were restructuring this qtr, I think we could see north of 39 within a few days.

Chart says base is forming from todays open and new (not old) investors could be rewarded.

Old investors are the bagholders / resistance on the way up.

To summarize, deserving move, but overreaction, will float up slowly from here.

  • GameStop advances after profits beat expectations, outlook backed
Shares of multichannel video game retailer GameStop (GME) are rising this morning after the company reported better than expected first quarter profits and backed its fiscal 2014 guidance. WHAT'S NEW: GameStop reported Q1 earnings per share of 59c, which beat analysts' consensus estimate of 57c, and revenue of $2B, which was relatively in-line with an estimate of $2.03B. Consolidated comparable sales for the quarter increased 5.8%. For the quarter, the new hardware category grew 81.1% from the year-ago period, driven by strong worldwide consumer demand for Sony's (SNE) PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's (MSFT) Xbox One. The company said total market sales in the U.S. from launch through April of XBox One and PS4 hardware more than doubled the combined sales of Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 hardware through their first six months of sales. Looking ahead, the company backed its fiscal year 2014 EPS view of $3.40-$3.70. The consensus forecast of analysts for FY14 EPS prior to the report was $3.68. Full year SSS are expected to be up 6%-12%. The company also forecast second quarter EPS of 12c-20c with SSS up 12%-19%. The consensus forecast for Q2 EPS prior to the report was 17c. WHAT'S NOTABLE: On its earnings conference call, GameStop CEO Paul Raines said the company is seeing "stronger" demand for the Xbox One as a result of the console's recent price drop last week, adding that the good news for the company is "we'll sell a lot more units." Also during the call, an analyst asked if GameStop's business has been impacted from Wal-Mart (WMT) recently entering the used game space. Raines said the company has not seen any impact from competitors entering the used game space and commented that "I would encourage you to go do some trades at all of our competitors, because I think all of them are in the trade business. We have a deep knowledge of how execution looks at all of those competitors and we do not have any i

    FireEye shares recommend at Nomura
Nomura said FireEye's lock-up expiration is May 21 could provide an opportunity ahead of improving investor sentiment, heavy investments, significant expansion of sales capacity and new product flow. Shares are Buy rated with $55.

After restrictions preventing FireEye insiders from selling stock expire on May 21 investors could become more optimistic about the shares, Nomura analyst Rick Sherlund predicted. FireEye has a robust opportunity in the IT security market and its technology is "best-of-breed," while its management team is strong, the analyst stated. Additionally, the company is adding new products and its advanced persistent threat technology could become more mainstream, said Sherlund.
