(reposting) Take June numbers and add the cash/debt changes ATVI mentioned for the deal. You appear to have added $6BN to their net cash position.

Err, which numbers are those? Because from the deal announcement on 7/25:

"Activision Blizzard will fund the acquisition with the combination of approximately $1.2 billion
of domestic cash on hand and approximately $4.6 billion of debt proceeds"

"The transactions announced today will allow us to take advantage of attractive financing markets while still
retaining more than $3 billion cash on hand to preserve financial stability"

ATVI is about $1.4BN in debt. And I'd question Kotick's willingness to work with Rockstars prima donnas who ignore schedules and budgets repeatedly. He tried to kick out the IW founders because they tried to enforce the creative control their contracts allowed them. It's still possible of course, as is the simple explanation of a technicals breakout from a range.

What do you mean re insiders? This stock has routinely moved ahead of big news in the past. I don't mean by insiders as in publicly disclosed Directors trades. The execs were even asked about the blatant insider trading price action once in an earnings CC and they basically said tracking down leaks wasn't a priority.
